I game on whatever device suits me at the time. Mostly though, I think being content for a time helps to make things more clear. I like choices as well as choosing not to game sometimes. When gaming is no longer fun, time to find something that is.

    Competitive running for me.

    I feel ya.

I go through bouts where I just can't be bothered to login. Sometimes I get very aggrevated with games (depending on what they are) and somehow find that games developed these days just lack soul or quality of design.

That being said, I still get alot out of gaming and will continue to do so, but won't upgrade my gear as often. I used to care a lot more about having the latest and greatest, but at this point, I do it more as a hobby to take my mind off of other life stuff.

Bottom line, find something you love to do and do it till you don't feel like it any more! Tastes change and we as humans change. I doubt I will be a hardcore gamer forever, even if games were always amazing..

Exactly what I thought....You can buy a new PC every 2 years and spend less than you do on a girlfriend.

Another one of these threads. OP, you stormed onto here, few months later you're gone, fair play.

Gaming is fun, either PC or console. It's, like many things in life, what you make it.

It's definitely not an age thing, I've seen many senior (some literally) gamers even on our forums. You got burned out, I often do too. Thing is when I'm busy with other things it can take days, or even weeks until I touch any game, so that helps to make me look forward to free time to game. I also recommend you get yourself some books, it never hurts to read some when you have the time and are tired of gaming.

Burnt out or not, it is at least one of the cheapest hobbies you could have, even if you own a few platforms and buy games often. It's good to get a few alternative hobbies too but all too often you go from entry level to wanting pro stuff. I learned that even a simple aquarium hobby can empty some serious cash over a short period of time. Then I wanted a decent home theater system but quickly wanted a better one, then I wanted this receiver or that speaker....I'm glad I'm over most of those old hobbies. I do still have a tendency to upgrade the audio system in my car every year or two and I spend more each year on home and gardening stuff...I wish I was just into books, now there's a cheap hobby..isn't it?

This thread inspires me to start a thread called: Time to say good Bye Porn.

But after some considerations, I refrain myself from doing so, knowing that the responses for that thread would be pretty much the same like in this one, but with different wordings. :D

NEVER lol. That said, I am bored of the wife and wish there was a second or third wife to play around with, if you know what I mean. :D

It's just getting old. Everything is less fun the older you get, apart from pranking.

Can't do that with bunch of people so close to my office, I'm too shy :D (liar)

Just wondering... Does anyone here (especially old gamers like me with 30+ or at least 20+ years of experience) did some kind of "gaming abstinence" earlier for about year or two and after that made a successful comeback?

About 8 months had passed since my last late night gaming sessions in Crysis 2 multiplayer and my desire for gaming atm is at level zero. Even my lady (she knows me for almost 21 year) is wondering WTF is wrong with me and why I'm not even thinking about gaming, no more late gaming session until dawn etc. Not that she's complaining about that, now she has more than enough time to play with my "toys" :D but now even when she is into "red zone" I'm not gaming and her "red zones" were periods when I was spending most of my time gaming till late night hours for obvious reasons :)

It bothers me a bit if I would be able to make a comeback in front of screen, keyboard and mouse  I had noticed that my gaming reflexes are noticably slower in past maybe 2 years, my kids (boys especially, 13.5 and 7.5) are literally wiping the floor with me in every single game I had tried to play in Co-Op or Vs with them in past year or two, they are making jokes about me while gaming via Skype ot TeamSpeak... :(

atm I don't have solution for my "situation", not sure if I would be able to decently play anything if I made few more months or years of gaming abstinence :( Burned or not in my case things are not looking bright in near future, if VR doesn't kick me in my butt in next year or two I guess I'm lost forever... :bang:
