Hello guys! So, I'm planning on upgrading to three monitors, eyefinity (5760x1080). Will my GPU be able to handle it on the latest games on at least high/Ultra smoothly? I don't expect 60 fps or so, I'm fine if it's just 30+ :) My gpu is an R9 290 overclocked 15%. Thanks!

Should be fine on most things with High settings and FXAA or 2x MSAA.

It will be able to handle it, but not for long. As for future games, take a look at this ;)

Should be ok if you dont crank too much MSAA in the higher demanding games.

This will anyway, completely depend of the game.

Well there's plenty of reviews out there, ( most with 290x, but you can surely just look at them and get the idea ).

Most reviews today include Eyefinity 3 monitors 1080p setup ( a good example on Guru3D reviews ), should not be a problem ( just search reviews for your gpu )

Mine can do 6048x1080 on fairly decent graphics settings on most games, quite a few maxed out no probs, some I have to drop a bit but generally those games are unoptimised even at 1080p

Running three monitors now! It's actually working pretty well :) Only in a very few games I have to crank down some settings. Most games work smoothly on ultra settings, bioshock, Metro LL, BF4 etc.

Makes a big difference to immersive gameplay with 3 screens eh :)

Really puts you inside the game

Flight Sims are good, but have a sick bowl near your desk, especially if you play with lights out

And you really should check this roller coaster demo out, you get 3 free tracks to play with

    Again, lights out ;)

Yeah it's great :D However, I have a question. How long of a distance do you sit from your eyefinity setup when you game? I think I might sit too close - but Idk.

My head is maybe 2ft from the centre screen, I have the side LCDs angled in about 35-45dg so that when I turn my head to look at them, they are perfectly straight on at my face like the centre one is, if you see what I mean

Yeah, mine are also angled a bit :D Thanks again, I don't think I sit too close then :D

I think it's just what looks best to you, Ive tried a few distances and angles and settled on this one, so long as the side screens are still fully in your peripheral vision, but not much else to the side of them, that seems about perfect to me

You want to try to make the screens fill as much of your sight as possible without losing any LCD and without including too much room/wall

Yeah, I agree on that. I have only had this setup for a couple of days but I can already tell it's very special and unlike one screen. I like it so far :D I don't think I'll be able to go back to one single 24" monitor xD

No you won't, it's horrible trying to use a single screen again now

The way I describe it is like having those blinkers on that horses wear when you go back to one screen

I use Eyefinity for normal desktop / browsing / forums now as well as gaming, and although I only use the centre screen for firefox, I have the other two screens for email and other things, without them I feel like Im trying to squeeze everything onto a tiny display

Having to minimise one thing to look at another is a thing of the past :)

Bezel correction is good for gaming too, makes it really feel like the image is passing behind ta window frame instead of magically appearing on the other display
