Not all FPS is realism, this is applied to "realism games" not Serouis sam and quake dude.

When running more photo realism games in DX11 and more of simulation i dont want to see a on screen crosshair in a game. HD graphics can sport the use of Iron sights, or something on the gun when you aim down sight. besides aimming down a sight has become more than overratted. COD. For example. Guy is 10 feet away. ZOOOOOOOM....lame.

anyways, we all have simulation race, air, and city games, where are more of the super great simulation FPS shooters. or RPG fps shooters, running full DX11, that dont look like a ****ing aracade feel.

Crosshairs get in the way of a great graphical game aka DX11.

Even though Metro 2033 is not ""realistic" turn off crosshairs. makes more of the challange and looks cleaner on the screen too, esp when graphics are maxed. Crysis as well, Delta mode. using latest and greatest Graphic mods.

Ughhh, Diablo 3 already time for a GOOD game.

Once you start down that road, what about wind, bullet drop, ricochet, material penetration, weapon jam/equipment malfunction, etc.? Where does it end?
It's also strange to have a game that forces you to aim-down-sight to target, but your health can magically refill itself after each hit and do that FOR-EVER (COD).

What would be great for a FPS GAME again is when we can have great visuals improvements we have seen in the last decade, but also have great innovative gameplay (stop ripping off the MMORPG). Instead of cheap grinding element to force you continue playing.

    <rant>
Mainstream FPS games in recent years has seen a huge creative bankruptcy: they all play alike and most often than not all their stories are also alike: Terrorist treat, go and blahblahblah. Even their "perks" and unlocks system are often alike. Not to mention the boring scripted and baby-sitting NPC which also act quite similarly.

People weren't playing Quake and CS games for years because they were struggling to unlock the rail-gun or AWP. They continued playing the same game for years because it had balanced gameplay.
Sure, some weapons might be considered OP (up for debate), but at least they weren't OP because one had put 3000-hours in it and can select it. While someone else who only had played 100-hours and cannot select it yet.
    </rant>

I did enjoyed ADS in some FPS games and i do agree that when a FPS game has ADS, they should get rid of the crosshair; and the magical health replenish.
But getting rid of crosshair entirely in FPS games is something i disagree with. But than, these days there isn't a single flick shooter left in the mainstream FPS release if you leave out QuakeLive (which tbh is just an migration of Q3A to a browser).
Most of the flick shooters released these days are free or indie games.

Here's a thought: include an option to toggle crosshair on/off and everybody wins :p

I don't like alien or monster games either. Thats why I stopped playing Crysis when they appeared.

    Like:

    - Checkpoint save system
    - Supernatural enemies - shooting humans only arenĀ“t much fun imo

    Dislike:

    - Motion blur
    - Narrow FOV that cannot be changed
    - Selfplaying handholding cinematic corridor shooters aka Call of duty
    - Escort missions
    - Cover system

Long, maze-like corridors that dont lock the doors behind you so you dont end up repeating covered ground (Doom 3).

Repetitious stuff - ie, Oblivion, with similar castles, forts, caves, same monsters, creatures, routines and those damn oblivion gates.

Menus with hidden buttons that are puzzles to navigate (ie, Burnout Paradise). Clicking thru ten screens or buttons just to exit a game.

Impossible flesh and blood opponents that are hacked and slashed or shot a million times and gallons of blood pouring out of them yet they manage to kill you off.

Poor rendition of female bodies in games. Never seen a chick with a nice ass in a game (how about tesselating some ass once in a while?)

    Lol uhhhh...

That's kinda weird to say. Only game I can think of where people have been creepily posting is ME2 in that fashion.

If they did that it would cause the GPU to overheat and the system would BSOD. :p

    Pixel hunt games.

    Clown car respawning.

    QTEs when overused too much.

Always on drm for single player games. Online or offline, does not matter i will usually just do w/e with a game less i tend to play it online and need the og files.

D&D fantasy mmos to a great deal its been done to death, how about some cyberpunk, or wild west, or something new on the mmo front. Quit trying to remake wow most everyone that has played wow is sick of it. And ditch the wow color scheme, even tor seems to love the wow color pallet from what i have seen, so did warhammer and quite a few mmos.

Fanboys, even tho i have my fanboy moments.

Hype. Way way too much of it in this day and age, less a game is really going to invent the fps or the mmo stop infering it will.

I'd prefer to have subtitles and original voices most of the time too. Certain games though english voices just sound awesome.

    1. Games that contain more cutscenes than actual gameplay, without being able to skip through them.

    2. Games that don't contain a auto-save feature, if you fail somewhere at the end of the mission, you'll have to play all over again.

    - unskippable cut scenes
    - overly long tutorials (games should be learned by playing them)
    - repetitiveness
    - console porting

Still, 50% of them are better than average.

BWAHAHAHA!!! Dude, you just made my day! :D

I don't know about other countries, but I know that in America, most movies are subtitled, and you get the original dubs. But things are different elsewhere: us French peeps are used to getting all our movies dubbed, and since that's a standard thing here, people neither question nor complain about it.

I'm one of the few people who enjoy watching subtitled movies, because dubs can only be so good (I'm thinking about LOTR here, in which I spotted inconsistencies here and there, despite it being a very large budget movie). Subtitles aren't the best way to go about it either (you'll often read shortened sentences compared to what the actors actually say), but at least, you won't get some random dude or chick's voice. That tends to get on my nerves for TV shows, 'cause they often select voices that are totally different and/or lame.

    Go subs!!!

    Predictable story and boring gameplay.
For once i want to be a nazi in WW2 shooters just to see it from their perspective.Or a russian guy who's not working for the "good" guys on order to bring Komunism to its knees!!!

    Here is an idea:
How about let me play as a Lybian soldier fighting for your country against evil NATO invasion!!
At the end you could choose to stick a nuke in to Obamas ass or Angela Merkels ass!
That would be a good storytelling :D
