I had a "Double ATi Rage 3d Turbo PRO II" or something like that in my old P2. I knew before I bought the computer that ATi cards wasn't the best. But it actually sounded quite good with 8mb memory and stuff. When I got it I soon realized that it was compleatly worthless. The only game I could even run in 3d rendering mode was AvP, no Unreal, no QLQuake or Quake2 no etc etc etc. OK there was a few other games that "worked" with glithes everywhere. It could'nt handle transparent 2d sprites in most games.
Then I bought a Voodoo2 and everything worked great!

Later I replaced both the ATi and the 3dfx with a nVidia TNT2.
And the first thing I relized was that all 2d graphics was a lot better with the TNT2.
So not only did that card refuse to work with any game. All those years it gave me crappy 2d graphics too.

So... Mostly all older ATi cards that were around at the 3dfx days was useless.

    Agreed. espcially the 64bit version.

Alot of people bought them getting hyped on the FX name to find out the card was a piece of crap.

Ditto with the GF4 MX series. Once again alot of people bought them seeing the GF4 and not realising the MX series of the GF4 is like a pumped up GF2

FX 5200 : We should not speak of this card again...

4 MX : It sucked, but at least it plays Half Life

    FX 5800U : VROOOOOOOMMMM!!!!! Need I say more? :D

Intel Extreme Graphics takes my vote, if It counts of course as it's built in. I mean: whats so 'extreme' about it?

I'd have to go with my 9800Pro out of all of the ones I used.

Really glad to have gotten rid of it personally.

The "Best" video card ever (price vs performance)?

Thats a tough one. Out of the nVidia cards, I would say the:

    GF4 Ti4200 or the 6800GT

It's just unbelievable how bad the 5200 is.

I compared my 5600 to a 5200 and the performance on the 5600 was twice as good as on the 5200!

The Geforce FX cards got a bad name because of the 5200.
