Im a huge Elder Scrolls fan and I squealed like a girl when I saw Oblivion's intro and Skyrim's trailer but at least now some ES fans can shut up about the "OMG, its a big open world, of course you can't have nice graphics with it! Duh!". Because open world = no good graphics its plain retarded, its a shtty excuse for reasons I won't bother to discuss.

No matter how awesome Oblivion/FO3/FONV/Skyrim were, their tech is awful to look at, awful to play on and awful to mod it. The only redeeming thing is that the go pains around it with the CS/GECK/CK to make it somewhat usable, and that they try the hardest to mask its shortcomings with good artists and level designers.

I'll be honest about this, I didn't know of Witcher's existance until I saw a trailer for Witcher 2 and it looked awesome. I was your typical RPG player who thought TES was the ultimate RPG experience blah blah.

Got Witcher 1, played the **** out of it...realized I was dead wrong and TES was just generic crap, played Skyrim, Witcher 2 and my suspicion was confirmed. Never again am I going to regard TES as close to good if they keep using the same formula....not to forget Skyrim was overly simplified to provide a casual experience. I was sorely disappointed in it.

But Witcher man that's a whole different thing, it's amazing. For me No RPG comes close to it.....well okay play Planescape Torment maybe but not the modern ones. Not only does it look fabulous, it actually is very deep.

All witcher games are connected story wise, Witcher2 takes place where Witcher1 ends.

If you looking to play Witcher3, I strongly recommend to play 1 and 2. These are really well done polished games.

I played first one, but as far as i remember i wasnt too keen on controls for some reason, mainly combat. Suppose couple extra pounds wont hurt my wallet, might as well get both. Time to add Witcher to my backlog of games on Steam :D

35x bigger than W2. 20x bigger than Skyrim.

That's a whole lot of game world right there and yet the screens clearly show there's a bump in graphical fidelity even if it's not perhaps a massive one. I'll be perfectly happy with the quality of W2 even on medium with a world so much larger than it was previous.

Wasn't it ~20% bigger (world) compared to Skyrim?
