Sapkowski was a consultant on the show. Who's hijacking anything?
Not sure about the trailer... I mean...fake medallion (flat I mean), only one sword, and black eyes when/or after he ingests the Witcher elixirs!
And what about that monster at the end lol ! Never seen one like that in the game, or read in the books about it (or I don’t remember at least ).
Not that all of the above are bad... it’s just that for us, Gamers, could be a turn off. I guess, for all the other, non gamers, that never heard of the Witcher, or read the books, will not matter... and they are probably 90% of the viewers anyway
I think it's some type of Endrega, perhaps a queen.
yea the medallion is dime store also. but cdpr made that thing so gdamn cool also.
Complaining about the physical appearances of these characters is a pointless endeavor. They are imaginary characters, and finding real people that look like the characters in the books is less important (and probably hard as hell) than finding real people that can "act" the parts properly.
I mean, look at Henry Cavill. Geralt is supposed to be slim and muscular, not big and burly, yet Cavill looks like he's cycling some performance enhancing drug for him to bulk up to that degree that quickly. We could nitpick all day long about the incongruity between the Netflix show and the books, but in the end, the only thing that matters is whether or not you are entertained.
Here is the full comic con panel
iirc, Henry is a fan of both the books and the games and beat 207 other actors to play the part.
Looks crap imo, I mean I like Henry and I like how HE looks as Geralt. Everything else though? Ugh...
I think the show, books and games should be somewhat thematically similar and be based off the same universe. Other than that, I don't think it really matters if they're very much alike or not. It's an adaptation. Might not even be incredibly good - no matter how big the budget, it's rare for shows to completely satisfy people continuously.
Not a fan of the netflix trailer, in the books u can use your imagination [wich sucks] while the games keep it true there orginal story.
I'm using the grass, candle, Ultra rework mod, live bestiary, and many others that I can't remember right now. All I know is the game is absolutely gorgeous.
I love how the show is based off the books, and not the games.
Yet... it's getting compared to the games constantly.
Can't blame anyone really. Still a lot of gamers out there who have not read the book and people who have read the books but not played the game. Never ending cycle really. Plus the Witcher 3 was played but a large base of people who never played the first 2 games or played the first and skipped the second etc.
The Witcher 3 was so well done so it really stuck to people who have not read the books.
both Mass Effect and The Witcher trilogies are some of my all time favorites. i think most people
who played both series several times would agree that the third Mass Effect was less impactful in the series
than the rest of em.
The Witcher 3 case is exactly the opposite. sometimes i see good friends of mine replay it and ignore
the first two games, some of em didn't even finish em.
i think The Witcher 3 was a milestone in gaming. much like GTA 3 and HL1 at their time. everything related
to fantasy or open world games today is compared to it. i played the first and second games several times over the years and they are simply outstanding,
but the hype around the third game simply killed it for some people, i guess most of em didn't read the books.
im on my third or fourth run now, ATM at the first quests after reaching Novigrad.. DAMN that search for Dandelion
is just...exhausting. that's one part of the story i would be glad to cut from the game
Tried installation the HD Reworked 10 and it's not working for me. I installed the files in the folder where it shows the Witcher 3 exe file which I assume is the main folder.
In the Witcher 3 it shows **preset value Hulk HD after Ultra in the texture options. I choose it, and it makes absolutely no visual difference whatsoever to my game. I went close up to textures, no difference so I assume I'm not installing this correctly.
I have the Game of The Year edition. Any help please?
How about you read the instructions on the download page?
The mod files obviously needs to be in the mod folder.
Yeah, I get that.
I still find it funny. Specially when the trailer has a huge "Based on the best selling books" in it.
And every interview or thing they do about the show, they are always really quick to be like, "This is based off the books/inspired by the books".
One they even said "This is not based off the popular video game series."
Wow, nice tone there! The instructions weren't very clear. Do I copy the entire folder with the mod files into the mods folder or do I just copy the files for HDreworked into the mods folder?
Please explain, and please don't be a fcking asshole next time. Thanks!
Hdreworked 10 consists of 2 .exe files. When you run them, the installer tells you to choose the root folder of your witcher 3 install, and then the installer will literally take care of everything.
It really doesn't get anymore simple than this.
Fyi i wasn't really being rude, but the same can't really be said for you...
