I think the "free dlc" model should replace the stupid preorder dlc model we see now. With each shop getting its own stupid little thing to pull in the punters

Erase certain things in game?? Like quests or NPC's?

And, is there any way I can install this and disable everything it does except the deband feature? I've never used Reshade and don't want to mess up my game by missing a step or not knowing about what the program does to my files. Any help would be appreciated.

I could be waay off my horse here, but I'd be downright flabbergasted is a reshade/sweetfx setting started deleting quests and people.
I think he means certain graphical effects become subdued in the process.

Hmm.. well I'm willing to test it. Just need somebody to help me install and edit the settings and eliminate the features I don't need. There are no real instructions in the file download, so I kinna don't wanna mess with it yet.

Yea, just got them. Both are in Skellige, so I will check them out once I get there.

Went to try the Skellige armor and it's at level 41! I can't even reach level 37 after beating every quest in the game. That sucks! Looks like I'll have to start the game over or wait for the expansion pack to try it out.

Yeah seems a bit naff tbh, is it even possible to get to level 41 without mods or console commands?

I hope they do add a new game plus, that would be cool.

    Nice.

Crashed so much, that it actually corrupted my boot sectors(when had to hard reset), and then Windows itself did the rest...

    Re-installing *sigh*

OK... I think I've done as much as I can in Novigrad... I'm about to find a captain to bring me to Skellige.

Anyone have any advice on what to do first when I get there? Where to go? What quests to look for?

there's a ships captain who will take you propped up at the bar in a pub down at the docks if you didn't already know

The first thing to do is yeah, just explore the coast region - every inch as there's loads of nice loot to find.

I have a copy of this game I got with my video card. I redeemed the code and downloaded it from gog . I didn't like it so I am going to give it away . If anyone is interested let me know and I will try and find all the information for it.

Up to level 30 now and entering the final stages. I'm working on getting the Mastercrafted Cat gear but I have to unlock a Master armorer first. I already have the swords.

Well,Reshade 0.19 Mastereffect with Deband does a good job, though indeed as already mentioned it has a con..it removes details mostly on dark objects if you put strong values.

    DEBAND_RADIUS 24.0 (26 is great but doesn't worth)
    DEBAND_THRESHOLD 0.017 (0.020 is great but doesn't worth)

    seems the most balanced settings.

    Check comparison screenies

    1 off

    1 ON

    2 off

    2 ON

If only developers used a dithering filter ONLY on files related to sky it would be better with no loss to anything else. (or if we knew how to mod them after we knew how to decrypt them..)

Is the negative side effect of removing details based on your settings for Deband values? Or is it dependent on some other setting in the package?

Only Deband active, nothing else. If you use stronger values(28 and 0.020) you can easily see the dark woody areas for example on my screenshots that they lose badly detail and become darker and a blurry mess, doesn't worth for sure to be tough on those settings. Still much better than without that shader.

Try it and see with your eyes, don't worry,it will be the best way to compare.
I have to warn you, even with 24 and 0.017(or 0.018) you will be amazed but you have to try 28 and 0.020 to see the best FREE de-banding software in action (and also the negative sideFX at his mighty). Playing with safe values I've said you will be ok for your gameplays, much better experience now with this game.
    On fast forward instructions...:
    download R+framework from here ,
copy all except ReShade32.dll to game's exe folder,
    rename ReShade64.dll to dxgi.dll,
    run ReShadeFrameworkMediator.exe
"play" with it a bit to find how to make a preset for witcher3 game (easy enough),
at second tab then choose only "deband",
go to "CustomFX" (4 tab)adn then "DEBAND" for changing values (only the first two, leave the others as they are).

The "removing detail issue" is like distant -mostly- objects don't get sharpening and become darker, like anisotropy is removed from them..
