Flatpacks from squiers007 on AVSforum. Some info: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/155-diy-speakers-subs/1648673-martysub-faq.html Subwoofers: http://www.istonline.ca/mach5_uxl_18.html My original DIYSoundGroup 4cu ft sealed build: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/155-diy-speakers-subs/1481221-uxl-18-just-arrived.html WinISD simulations say it will be about 10dB louder than my sealed versions at 20Hz. That's insane. These are a lot bigger than my 4cu ft sealed DIYSoundGroup subs they are replacing. p.s. brad nails are awesome. So are helpful wives.
Progress is slow, but it's coming along. Had to belt sand the baffles a bit to get them to fit. Also, the front to back bracing was a real pain. Overall - nothing the sander, and some filler can't fix. It won't be show quality, but it will get the job done. Wifey helping me line things up. She's so helpful. I lucked out. Flatpack came with extra wood bits to give the screws something extra to bite in to. I'm sure the bracing isn't 100% optimal, but I think it's close enough. This shot includes the front to back bracing. There's one in each "corner". Not really the corner, but you know what I mean.
Gorgeous job Rebel...I contemplated the ist sub's a couple of years ago. But, sigh... life happened and priorities changed. I live about a 20 minute drive from them too... Well, maybe as a retirement gift for myself.
