I've never had this problem before, its kinda ridiculous to me! ...

I can't install any driver regardless if its in safe mode or in windows.. it gives me an error saying "the system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run the installation again" doesn't matter what ... this started happening after i uninstalled the 177.60's to install the .73's! no luck, tried the .79's and no luck! .. for some reason the only drivers that install are the 175.19's.. but not even properly because i can't access the nvidia control panel! thank god for nhancer, but i really wanna get into the CP to use digital vibrance! any help would be greatly appreciated !:bang::bang:

    running VISTA 64 bit sp1:pc1:

PROBLEM was unfixable according to evga. so i formated. works great now.
cheers for all who looked at the thread!:biggun:

Try a previous restore point, or use this procedure:

Download both the driver (180.48 WHQL) and the modded inf for your OS version (XP/Vista, 32-Bit/64-Bit) from here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=120

    Now do the following:
    1. Uninstall your current driver.
    2. Restart and boot into safe mode (F8).
    3. Run Driver Sweeper and maybe even CCleaner.
    4. Restart and boot to the regular desktop.
    5. Decompress the downloaded driver and copy the modded inf into that folder.
    6. Run the setup.exe you can find in that folder.
    7. Restart.

In case that's not working either, afaik, you have to format...

    YES! perseverance wins :D

I downloaded modified drivers from this thread and tried to install them and thank god it worked!
Then I took the WHQL 180.48 drivers and smacked the inf from the modified drivers on them. I added the PhysX options from the original inf to the modified inf.

It might be a small win, they installed properly, but I still can't install regular drivers 'as they are meant to be installed' ...

Hey there, most likely you did not finish a DX install.
Goto this file and delete the contents of the last install, aslways back up your stuff.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional

What does that have to do with it? I deleted (backed-up) the files in that folder. I tried to update directx via microsoft's web installer, but it still says that it couldn't download the files needed...

I've already updated some time ago via the redist. pack, I can't remember anything went wrong.. So I don't think that is the problem.

LOL I was just saying that DX when installed lets say with A game or something, could have easily screwed up your machine,so you would get the error you had stated in the first post.
I was just telling you how to solve the problem ,and you should not need DX,sorry if I wasnt more clear.

I always encounter that problem with Vista (even on fresh formatted installation). It's due to all zipped non-nvidia drivers.
Every official INSTALLSHIELD nvidia build works perfectly, others are blocked.
Don't know why. On winXP the problem's not here.:3eyes:
