Nice that's the same one I got. Let us know if you OC it. I'm having difficulty keeping a stable oc on the memory. Also seeing you went with the core frozr l cpu cooler. I am also using that and it's really impressive considering how cheap it was. Running 5ghz with temperatures in the 60s on my 9600k and an extra fan for push/pull.

Guys, one really weird problem I have is that the card downclocks immensely while playing less demanding games. I was trying out FFXV which was a demanding game for my old 1080Ti but my 2080Ti handles it so well that it from time to time downclocks to 1500MHz or less creating stuttering when having to hop back up to ~2020MHz due to something more demanding happening.

I also tried Mega Man 11 and there the clocks went down to 425MHz while playing  Sure, it maintained 60FPS but I've never seen anything like that. My 1080Ti couldn't downclock itself that much, I'm sure of that. I've researched a little and found some evidence on the nV forums that it was due to a bad BIOS which was fixed with a newer version. I'm thinking about writing to MSI and ask them.

    Has anyone encountered this problem?

So I did some more testing and it's not easy keeping the OC in check. I'd say my card is a bit weaker than the lot in that case cause my +160/+1000 OC only lasted for 5 minutes when I started seeing green artifacts over the whole screen. At first I thought it was something with the driver or game (Anthem) or something but it turned out that it was the memory that couldn't cope with the +1000 OC. I turned it down to +700 and the artifacts vanished. Next problem was that after playing for 30mins, Anthem crashed and the Windows log reported a nV driver failure. I tried lowering the OC to +150 and increased the fan speed to 55% which seemed to have helped as I could complete the first mission without crash, plus the temps stayed below 70 for most of the time and clocks were around 2040MHz. I guess I'll go with that OC once I play heavy games and use a lower OC and Auto fan when playing "lighter" games.

Thanks man! I would really like to try Metro but not on Epic store :/ I have yet to try RayTracing and DLSS :)

OC is not optimal since the card needs a lot of cooling. Unfortunately I got Micron memory so there is a chance that I'll get the space invaders in a few weeks. If that happens I'll ask the store for a Gaming Trio X instead. Like you I couldn't OC the memory to +1000 like most can so for now I had to settle with +700 but it of course needs further testing.

Agreed, the Twin Frozr is the best air cooler I've ever had!

Nobody has an issue with the card downclocking? I played a match of Apex and my card jumps from 1200-1900MHz which creates stuttering. Tried "Prefer maximum power" in NVCPL which indeed solved the issue but it feels wrong to use that setting.

The MSI RTX 2080Ti GAMING X TRIO also comes with Micron memory. I have an Asus ROG STRIX 2080Ti OC and a TITAN RTX and those come with Samsung memory modules (so says GPU-Z).

I have the MSI 2080Ti Gaming X Trio (Micron memory), Asus Strix 2080Ti OC (Samsung memory), the Titan RTX (Samsung memory), and I just got in the EVGA 2080Ti FTW3 (have not opened the card or installed/tested yet so I don't know what memory it uses). All I can say is that all three cards I've tested work perfectly fine and the MSI and Asus both overclock pretty nicely (but I don't normally OC my GPU's unless I just wanna see how high they can go). Normally I leave them at how they came out of the box.

I'm also going to try to test the Zotac AMP! Extreme but I plan on staying away from Gigabyte.

Well... perhaps! All I can tell you is what my specific MSI RTX 2080Ti Gaming X Trio came with and GPU-Z is reporting it as Micron. My Asus RRPG Strix RTX 2080Ti OC came with Samsung, and my TITAN RTX also came with Samsung.

    @Geryboy

Are you sure 2040MHz out of box from AMP because I have Zotac RTX 2080Ti AMP and this OC I haven't seen on my RTX 2080Ti AMP at all, under water and temperatures in 38-40°C my best OC is around 2115MHz which will drop to 2100MHz when temperatures are above 39°C I think

Out of box that card will do 1825-1875MHz or something around that figure, never seen 2040MHz out of box and have this GPU

1000MHz on VRAM is possible if card have Samsung memory, 1100MHz is max which I can do on my VRAM

On Palit RTX 2080Ti there I have been limited by Micron VRAM modules and with that card I could do max 650-700MHz, 600MHz is on safe side on that card, +140MHz is max on Palit which still better than on my Zotac RTX 2080Ti AMP

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

My bad; I wasn't paying attention and thought you had the gaming x trio. So we have different cards but almost the same. Well, you might be fine with micron because my card also has Micron and I've had my card working fine since 9/27. I have memory completely at stock because even +300 was unstable.

Damn card keeps crashing in games, for example Apex and Anthem if I play them for a longer period of time. Then I realized I had downloaded GTX drivers and not RTX drivers but I don't know if that's the problem.

Also increasing voltage does absolutely nothing. Anyone has had any luck with that?

I tried the "Adaptive" power option which helped a lot and made the card boost correctly. Later I set it back to "Optimal" since I wanted to try it again and then it worked normally, so I don't understand what's going on here. Feels like the card behaves like it wants to. I lost tons of FPS in Anthem since the card doesn't go full load like it did on Friday.

I don't know if I should have looked for different card that has Samsung memory? Is it that much better or is it simply random?

If you've got 2055 out of the box you've got a golden sample. My card does 1,4V.

I've tried different settings but I cannot find a sweet spot. +700 doesn't report any artifacts in the Superposition benchmark but I do get some flashing textures in Apex from time to time. BFV on the other hand works completely fine.

Are you maxing the voltage slider or just the power target? I haven't touched the voltage slider because more heat=throttling on these cards but maybe that is why I am unstable?

Yes, both PT and Voltage. And yes, it just increases the heat for some reason which is actually weird. If there is no added voltage, why are the temps increasing?

    Sorry, haven't followed the thread closely since I didn't own a 2080Ti.

Sounds complicated, I preferred the old way with a simple slider :) Would have been interesting to know if my card doesn't OC well due to insufficient voltage or simply a worse chip. I'll see if I can understand what you mean by trying this when I'm home.

    Hi there

I have never tried or run stock cooler due this I can't comment performance on stock cooler, there are few versions of AMP like AMP, AMP Maxx, AMP Extreme Core, AMP Extreme and all of them are A1 chips or A chips, non A chip is Blower or Twin Fan there

Right now have flashed Galax BIOS 380W which is better in every way as clocks are stable under load and with Zotac BIOS I just couldn't keep clock from bouncing from 2055 to 2070MHz, with Galax clocks are nice and stable

Will be reflashing my RTX 2080Ti to stock Zotac BIOS and will see what I will get or what performance or what clocks I will see, done this few days back and not seen higher clocks as I posted previously

Agree with @Netherwind you have golden sample or you are won silicone lottery with yours Zotac, this GPU will be going to different PC and will be getting probably different RTX 2080Ti which one hard to say

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

Well, I was entertaining the thought of selling the MSI RTX 2080Ti Gaming X Trio. Its basically brand new. I wanna get another Asus ROG STRIX 2080Ti OC and NVLink them together to match my Asus Rampage VI Extreme motherboard.

I have to Google this, I don't understand the graph thing at all.

I tried OC Scanner and instead of giving me a fixed OC on Core, it wrote "Curve" but I honestly wonder if it worked since I still had stock clocks when running 3D Mark.

About the voltage, when I was playing Anthem yesterday and was in a cave with water the GPU usage finally went up and stressed the card. I had the fans ramped up and did notice voltage fluctuations with some really low core clocks as a result (down to 1980Mhz). The temps were still very good (70C) so it would have been great to somehow prevent the voltage from going down during heavy load.

Or I simply got a really bad chip :) I guess I can live with that.

Edit : I read somewhere that PSUs are supposed to be set to "single rail" and not "multi rail" when dealing with power hungry cards like the 2080Ti. Ever heard about that?

    Hey Jura,

I have samsung memory on my palit gaming oc pro according to GPUZ. I usualy don't OC but i should try something at least for fun right! :) Highest auto clocks that I've seen on my card were 1925, but usually it stays around 1875. Is that any good? Temp hover around 65 or so. I'm on air, but with really good case airflow :D

EDIT: JUST TRIED +100 +500 with power limiter to the max, and looks good so far. I've seen 2025 but mostly 1935 at the lowest. Temps went up to 69-70

I must say that the core clock drop due to this is way bigger than on my 1080Ti, I'm a bit disappointed. And if 70C is a "high temp" then I guess I cannot do much more here since 55% fan speed is audible and going higher is just too loud.

Thanks for your assistance so far.

    Hi guys,
I have this really bad blinking textures or shaders in Battlefiled V.
Almost all screen turns orange in regular time intervals.
I'm not sure if it is software (driver, game) or hardware issue.

Could anyone of you test it?
If I will send back a good card they will charge me for diagnostics and replacement. :(

Youtube is still processing the video, 1440p should be available soon.
But even at low resolution the issue is apparent.
This blinking is mostly visible in last chapter of campaign 'The Last Tiger'.
I see it from the beginning, it gets worse in later acts (like in the video).

    System specs:
    Windows 10 1809
Asus Strix RTX 2080 8GB OC
    Driver 418.91

    Game setting:
    1440p
    All setting Ultra
    HBOA+
    RTX ON
    DLSS ON

    Hi there

You are lucky there, friend Palit RTX 2080Ti have Micron VRAM modules with which I just couldn't OC VRAM beyond 700MHz, I stayed on that GPU at 600MHz as max to be on safe side

Most of Samsung memory should do 1000MHz easy, tried like EVGA RTX 2080Ti XC and few others and we are on most of them could OC Samsung memory to at least 850MHz and 1000MHz has been possible and with some 1100MHz too

Friend Palit RTX 2080Ti at stock clocks with power limit set at max, voltage at max will do 2025MHz as yours and clocks stay there as his temperatures are good at 42-45°C that's with single 360mm radiator which is cooling CPU 8086k with 5.2GHz, max OC we could achieve is 2131MHz which usually drop to 2100MHz when we are reach 39°C or something around that figure

Yes temperatures will go up if you are OC that's unfortunate and normal, Turing GPUs are running bit hotter than old Pascal GPUs, this is my view there

You can try 1000MHz on VRAM if its stable, which I would hope so you will be, I'm running on my Zotac RTX 2080Ti AMP 1000MHz on VRAM, for gaming 600-850MHz is more than enough, in rendering I just couldn't OC RTX beyond 2050MHz as I will see TDR which is strange

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

Yeah, I guess I got lucky with the Palit card.As a matter of fact, there was only palit and galaxy in stock at that time, so I went with Palit. Usually I buy Asus or Zotac brands, but when not found, my third choice is Palit for some reason.

Will try to tweak some more just to see how much can I squeeze out of it. Not much I gather on air.

    Thank you for your tips.

Memory is on stock right now, i don't know what's with those dying cards :confused:o_O
I have micron chips, but there were already dead cards, with samsung memory. Sooo what to do :(

I don't have Metro Exodus. I might need to buy it just to test the card.
3D Mark Port Royale and DLSS tests look ok I guess. At least I do not see anything unusual in them.

There is no shooting in that scene. There is a lot of fire in that map. Burning building, some vehicles, etc.
But it shouldn't lit the whole screen, at least if point of view is not near an explosion.

I found a video of a guy playing this section (starts 24:15) on 2080Ti in older game version without DLSS.
He has a lot of stuttering, but not artefacts, glitches.
For me disabling DLSS doesn't change a thing, it is still blinking every few seconds.

It would be great if someone could just check it on current version of game, how it looks.

Yeah, but it kinda sucks having paid for a new card so much and find out it might be broken.

I verified game cache, and I always do a clean isntall using Nvidia installer. I don't use DDU, though.
I was hoping someone would give a feedback about BF V here.

Just don't install 418.91 cause they truly suck.

There is an impact for sure but unknown exactly how big it is in games using higher resolution. In Firestrike (Test nr.1) the difference between stock and +600 on the mem was about 2.5 fps :) I'm currently running at +600 and it's working so far.

    Hi guys

Not sure what has happened, updated to 1809 just after 3DMark released their Port Royal, after that I didn't done any benchmark, just rendered with GPUs where I didn't seen any difference in rendering, although performance has been bit poor, I thought so its down to settings

Few days ago switched from dual PSU setup(Seasonic XM2 1250W and Corsair RM750W) to single Superflower Leadex 8pack 2000W which I bought from friend, he bought this one for his render workstation but this never materialised and he used this PSU with 7900x and SLI shunt modded GTX1080Ti and done several tests after swapping the PSU

My Cinebench score has been in 1392CB,which I know is stock Cinebench score for 5960x my score for 5960x with 4.5Ghz is around 1690-1705CB what I know

Done 3DMark Firestrike, Time Spy and few other benchmarks and I lost something around 4000 points in total

Tried several drivers, check OC with CPU-Z and there has been correct 4.6Ghz, same with HWiNFO where max frequency has been 4.6Ghz, SIV64 reported same 4.6Ghz

Checked IOPS which has been lower by 20k which is lot

Then I tried to play game, tried only Assassin's Creed Syndicate with "Purity" SweetFX mod and at 3440x1440 with all settings at max I seen very low FPS

I didn't change any my BIOS settings etc, running same voltage like prior to 1809 update

After that I knew something is wrong, updated BIOS on my ASRock X99 WS which returned some scores back to normal or they're close to previous but still they're not same, in some cases they're lower by good margin like in 3DMark by 1000 points, Unigine Superposition scores are lower by 500-1000 points, Cinebench scores hard to say, now running 4.7GHz on my 5960x and scores are in 1735-1790CB, same scores I could get previously with 4.6Ghz

IOPS is lot better with BIOS update which is now like I remember

This bloody Windows 10 1809 update caused lots of problems which I didn't resolved yet, don't want to reinstall Windows as I have lots of SW installed and reinstall will be painfull to do so

Wish I done tests after updating to 1809,then I would downgrade back to 1709, live and learn

Literally I hate Windows 10 with their updates etc which you can't uninstall

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

So my MSI RTX 2080Ti Gaming X Trio came with Micron GDDR6 modules and both my Asus ROG Strix RTX 2080Ti OC and my new TITAN RTX came with Samsung GDDR6 memory modules. About to order a second Asus ROG Strix RTX 2080Ti OC and I hope it also comes with Samsung memory because I plan to NVLink the Asus cards on my i9 7980xe and Asus Rampage VI Extreme.

Has the rumor going around saying that the Micron memory was cauusing the artifacting been debunked?
