I want to get a rtx 2080 ti with my current set-up but i have two major concerns now, if u check the nvidia forums u see many people complaining that there 2080 ti will brick after a while with all kinds of third party brands like msi asus gigabyte evga etc etc.

My second concern is my current cpu i am scared that my 5930k will bottleneck the rtx 2080 ti.

I had two gtx 1080 ti gaming x cards in SLI, sold one about 9 months ago, still got 1 i used the website https://thebottlenecker.com/calculator to calculate if my cpu is a bottleneck for gtx 1080 ti sli and it was for 21% but to tell u the truth when i was using sli and doing 4k gaming i always had fps above 70-80 and up in all games, and i really didnt noticed any slowdowns with that cpu.

But now i tested with a rtx 2080 ti combined with a 5930k stock it only says i got a bottleneck of 11.79% [i dont own the card yet just used the website] wich is even lower then i expected, i know a gtx 1080 ti sli in sli is about 10% faster then a rtx 2080 ti, but most games dont support propper sli anymore thats why i sold 1.

I was thinking getting the msi duke version the 2080 ti anyone got some experience with that card i have seen reviews of it and its as fast as the trio x [2080 ti] sometimes even faster and it only use 2x 8 pin instead of 2x 8 and 1x 6 so that means less power voltage and less heat right ?

@Witcher29 I've had a couple 2080-tis since release and absolutely no issue at all with them aside that those cards are running hot.
My CPU is an overclocked 5820K@4.55Ghz , and the bottleneck is the most evident, the lower the resolution is.

Even with my setup, at 4K i'm extremely close to 8700K@5Ghz users. (within 5%). While at 1440p-1080p the difference can go to 20%+.

Just an example, Witcher 3, 2080-ti + 8700K@5.3Ghz , compared to my setup with 5820k, exactly the same performance at 4K:

Thats good to know thx, i do however not overclock my cpu its al stock, i was just a bit worried about these bricking 2080 ti,s but thats just a hand full of people i gues.
What i do wonder is u say rtx 2080 ti runs hot how hot exactly ?

Because when i check most reviews i see temps between 70 and 75 on full load that makes no sense then, thats probably because they are using an open bench, and no agressive curve i think.

I doubt you can achieve below 70-72°C at load with closed case even with extreme air flow, great board partner cooling solution and aggressive fan curve.

When i installed my first 2080-ti (the gigabyte Windforce) as a replacement of my gtx1080 which was running around 67°C at load:
the 2080-Ti went to 77-78°C, adding a front fan and using aggressive fan curve brought me down to 74°C but still.
Sent back the card for a EVGA XC Ultra which was around 73-75°C out of the box on load, with aggressive fan curve i'm around 70-72°C.

Considering getting a 'all-in-one' watercoolign solution for the card before summer.

^^ My founders edition runs about the same, between 70-74 on just about every game.

I have three EVGA 2080 Tis in three separate boxes (all Fractal Design R6), anywhere from mid 50C to mid 70C (depending on the game).

TBH, they are pretty much on par with my EVGA 1080 Tis previously.

Like you, I do not do any kind of OCing (outside of factory).

Jesus, 70fps+ at 4k with everything maxed in TW3? That is amazing. I remember when the game first came out and I struggled to hit solid 60fps @1440p on my 970 with far from maxed settings. Incredible how far we've come.

That is some fine system ram OC and latencies. I played with my ddr3 tridentx kit last week , but I just cant tweak as much or idk what's the deal.. :D

Well you should have gone with Asus strix 3fan or msi trio or the one with 2 large 100mm fans.. all those are around or bellow 70c.

I am stil a bit scared to buy one if u check the nvidia forums, its getting more and more by the day with them dying rtx cards i mean is it just me ? or is this going to be a worldwide major problem with these gpu,s ?

I if can remember correctly when nvidia launched the 10xx series there were not so much problems with them compared with the 20xx series.

If you're not comfortable, don't buy one, problem solved.

Hunger is a 'worldwide major problem', expensive video cards going wrong are not :p

3 of them (and a 2080) all no problems (all EVGA).

I'm not saying there aren't problems but we have no idea how many of those claims on the Nvidia forums are actually true.

There was definitely a problem with the first run of FE cards and it was acknowledged by Nvidia.

To my knowledge, there have been no major, mass verifiable problems beyond that original incident.

Even if every claim in that thread were true, it would still be a remarkably small number of cards affected in the grand scheme of things.

Even if it does die, just RMA it, get a new card and enjoy it, it’s really not the end of the world if it does fail.

Waiting for like two weeks or longer is not a option for me really.
Then again i can ask my pc retail store boss to put it in another machine and test bench it for like 5 days, and see if anything crap is going to happen.
