Im also tempted to sell my Ti's for a single 2080ti.

But, Nvidia has said they are going to put more focus back on sli, Wishful I know.

If in a perfect world example say that hypothetically from here on games supported sli amazingly, My 1080ti's would be faster.

Scrathc what i said about pcie, The nvlink SHOULD make up for it.

    Its a tough decision.

Yah, Nvidia's promises when it comes to SLI are less than confidence inspiring.

There is always talk about how they are going to improve it right around product launches (I wonder why that could be  )

It is a difficult decision but if SLI/NVLink suddenly becomes what it should be (and what it was), you can always pick up a second 2080 Ti (and by that time they will be a little cheaper).

I think I will hold off for a bit. I game at 1440p and my 1080TI blows most games out of the water (including my rig). Though my MB is quite old now and would like to upgrade in the future, BUT that being said the next time I upgrade anything will be a near full rebuild. New motherboard, CPU, RAM and GPU. PSU is still good. Oh and case I suppose.

Lets see how the cards get with newer drivers. As for SLI, like some of you know - once I went to a single strong card I just cannot go back to SLI. Always had so many issues with it including OC'ing.

The new abilities of these cards look promising.

As for the price - yes it is expensive, but if you can comfortably afford it - why not? But my advice to fellow 1080TI owners is hold off for a bit unless you REALLY need 4k potential.

Anyone receive their 2080ti FE yet? I received the Nvlink bridge so far and waiting on the cards. I know they were pushed back a week.

Anyone have this card yet and playing shadow of the tomb raider? Curious as to what settings it can play 4k 60fps at. I was hoping for everything maxed with maybe normal shadows and smaa (or dlss whenever that comes out).

An analogy with dirty clothes is just perfect. However the best point they make is that in most of those demos, modern "cheating the Ray Tracing" techniques, aren't used, they are turned off for maximum "wow" effect. When in reality comparison should be made in an "apples to apples+1 new apple" fashion.

That sucks..my buyer just stood me up and disappeared. Now my 1080ti is back up for sale. Guess it doesn't matter anyways since these cards seem next to impossible to get right now.

Price aside that looks seriously impressive and I cannot imagine the vast amount of power you'll have in your hands - daym!

And you sold your old card? Sucks to be on CPU graphics :(

I guess 1080Tis will be more and more difficult to sell once the interest of 2080Ti really starts to hit the roof. How much are you hoping to get for your card? I personally would have settled for 600€ if I sold mine but I fear that soon people would just want to give 500€ considering the huge amount of 1080Tis that will start to pop up.

Actually I was just going to come back and update my old post. The buyer just got back to me at the last minute and the sale is still on. I'm selling it for 19,000ntd which equates to 526 euros. Which I think is a pretty fair price for the aorus xtreme. The new 2080ti AIB models go for about 39,000ntd here so I only end up paying 20,000ntd out of my pocket (553 euros). Not bad overall. After I sell it, I'll be taking a trip to Taipei to see what the situation is. Didn't want to preorder until I had sold the card. Hoping I can still preorder and get one on the 27th.

Wow so just below 1100€ for one 2080Ti? That's really great! In Sweden I would have to pay 1450€ for one. Strangely enough, the FE costs less than the Aftermarket ones (contradictory to what nVidia promised).

I'm mad , missed an opportunity 3 weeks ago, a french store was taking preorders for 2080-ti at 1100euros. Seeing prices now, it was a damn fine deal.

I think I may end up upgrading my 980 with an RTX 2080. The Ti model only seem worth it if you have a 4K monitor that has 120hz refresh rate so you can benefit from games running between 70-90 FPS. And prices for 4k 144hz g-sync HDRmonitors are fu.... ludicrous.

So I'll settle for 4K (nearly) 60FPS with hopes in the future of utilising DLSS for increased gains.
Seriously there's a $630 difference in price between the 2080 and ti models where I live. The extra 25-30% gain isn't worth it especially if you don't have the above mentioned monitor to go with it.
