Imagine the mass disappoint now after the victory that was the PC petition. If you can't bring it to PC in a form worthy of the improved hardware on offer then why even bother at all?

    Someone posted it before.
But really, the only problematic area of the game on the consoles is Blighttown, and it's not that big of a framerate drop that it's completely unplayable. Who knows.

In future, i don't think many will bother.

This bit did make me laugh though when i re-read the petition there.
Anyone played this game on either console to say why parts like this suffer like framerate wise.
Wonder if its anything in particular, or if they have just messed something up when developing the game and no amount of brute force will improve things.

I don't know but, this is the area in question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0rwczXzYXo#t=50s

Maybe brute forcing it with a powerful PC would work, I don't know.

Thanks. Let's hope it's a driver issue or E3 build is not so good as full game :D

Oh ...I never knew it. (damn ignorant of me not to check it up)

Note: I really liked Demon Souls when I played it on the PS3 (very recent like 4-5 months ago), I had damn fun hunting one specific player online by intruding into his game. Another player had also intruded into the same game to knock that player down, but he got jacked..and my fight (second intrusion to the same character) lasted 30-45 minutes with durability close to zero on most of my equipment, most of my potions consumed and finally The dragonbone sword finished him out.. <- I want similar experience with Dark Souls on my PC :)

Blightown is indeed crap - to me it seems to be whenever there is an abundance of lighting or water effects. (PS3 version)

I'd rather it was out next year and fully optimised instead of rushed out for quick $$$ - Seems such a shame, because this game truely is great.

Maybe they'll get the third party that ThatDelirium mention that handled the Ninja Blade game to do a patch once the see the outcome after release day...maybe.

    Unlikely, different publishers.

Blight town is quite heavy graphically. Tons of detailed 3D objects in such a small area and view distance is quite impressive too. That would be basically why it drops on consoles.

Certainly conflicts with what the developers have been saying about the game who have admitted to having problems running the game smoothly.
I don't understand why they don't take more time to improve the game for pc. Most people would rather wait and buy a quality product than have a half arsed one released after 6 months.

Except it doesn't really conflict with that, they said they couldn't fix framerate issues, which is more or less just happening in Blight town, they've never said "we have new framerate issues in the PC version", which appears to be what most people somehow interpret it as. The guy who told him there won't be issues with BT was probably a Namco rep, possibly from their American branch.

As for not taking more time, it's possible they're not allowing them to extend the deadline and that's why they're rushing.

definitely i will buy it!ill be happy if we can change the res + full keyboard+mouse support.i think there is nothing to improve on the textures since the game looks fantastic allready(ive seen on ps3).in the driver we could try to find a working Ambient Occlusion flag+AA too.
