I didn't believe you but it really is... wow. Just looks like it has very bad performance even with the new expensive video cards.
Oh my... what have they done to this game?!?!? On my system (i5-13600KF, 32 GB, 10 GB RTX 3080, Windows 11 Pro 22H2) the original game runs at around 100 fps on maxed out 1440p settings. In this new version the game runs at 48 fps on the same settings during the intro sequence on the planet and is a stuttery, jerky horrible mess to play. I can only get a consistent framerate of over 60 fps if I enabled the Dynamic Resolution option but even then the game still feels incredibly jerky to play. I have also seen footage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions and they too have issues running at a locked 60 fps in their Performance modes. What's worse is that I cannot see any visual upgrade at all as the new version pretty much looks the same as the original, only it runs much, much worse. Seriously, why do developers release games in this state? It would be bad enough if this was a free update but it isn't. It costs £5, which in itself isn't a huge amount, but for me I had to also purchase the expansion pass at £15 as well in order to get the update (I own this on the Epic Games Launcher by the way, not Steam). Getting so sick and fed up of PC gaming at the moment. I have a brand-new system that is more than capable of running modern games at good framerates but find that every other game I play at the moment usually has some kind of performance issue or something.
I've seen someone test the game on the Series X. The quality mode stuck to 30 fps, for the most part. But it's 30 fps, so it sucks anyway. The performance mode was all over the place, with constant drops into the 50's and even 40's. Rarely would it go to 60 fps. But yes, it's a mess of a launch.
Runs absolutely horrible, very heavy stuttering, fps drops and moving camera can drop fps to single digits
Tested it earlier and ultrawide resolutions still aren’t available in full screen, and when using full screen windowed where the ultrawide resolutions do show up, it still just crops the image top and bottom of the screen and looks like crap. Oh, and performance is horrible, seriously, gaming on PC right now is quite the miserable experience.
Yeah still no proper Ultrawide it's laughable...this is no remaster! And an average framerate of mid 40's with a RTX 4080, seriously?
What in the hell is this ? I played the original plus the 2 dlcs. Does this version bring anything different besides"improved" graphics?
No it doesnt. Base game was mediocore at least anyway and seeing here the same perf issues is just a joke, again, like mentioned by @anxious_f0x pc gaming more and more is a "miserable experience". Im happy to see they fail miserably with this, and again, AGAIN, lol! Steam reviews are deserved, im happy its this low, maybe some devs get into gear, NOW! This is basically the only difference between vanilla and this "spacers" edition. Fun fact, you may not know, "this" version wasnt even done by Obsidian, but by Virtuos Games. Chinese btw, another one "bought" into the west market. Their focus are outsourcing games from other devs (from the west ofc).
Yeah that crap isn't excusable. Especially since a fan patch fixed in the original and it's UE4... super easy engine to make ultrawide work properly.
Easier said then done when you have twitchy investors bank accounts to appease. Its sadly becoming standard for games to release in this state nowadays.
It's been that way for many years now. All because impatient gamers buy games on day one, rather than wait a couple of days for the feedback. As long as this stupidity continues, they'll continue to release unfinished games.
