I'm very interested in some of Sonys upcoming exclusives, this being one of them, the thing that really excites me is the thermite gun, being able to melt metal above your enemy and drop molten steel on them sounds awesome

The only collector's edition game I've bought is 'World in Conflict'. Only because I wanted a piece of the Berlin wall, and the DVD from the history channel.

    Hopefully, wouldn't mind a reason to have a PS4.

Btw, noticed the thread title is wrong after trying to copy paste it into wikipedia.

    1886, not 1866.

wow for me the tech involved is very impressive. To bad not everyone sees this, people should get their had out of their asses and admit that this game is truly next gen from every point of view.
Only thing it's scared of is how often the cut scene will be, i hope they won't brake the game play.

There is not thirdperson shooter like this on the pc. Im actually quite surprised to find that the black bars add a little cinematic look to the game and dont annoy me as much as i thought they might

I seem to remember TotalBiscuit doing a video on the why 30 FPS is bad. The Order was quoted at one point, then he ranted on that 30 FPS is the devils work, and 60 FPS is the only way forward. He is wrong, very wrong with this game. 30 FPS is used to seemliness transfer between in game cut scenes and gameplay. You can't do this with 60 FPS.

And 30fps on consoles (last gen atleast) when made by most first party devs, feels smooth. On pc, good luck getting 30fps to feel smooth without using loads of motion blur of mouse smoothing.

Why cant you do this with 60fps?

have the cutscenes be 60 fps, and gameplay too.... Like well... any game that has seemless transitions on PC?

(Crysis 1, Far Cry 3, Halflife 2, etc...)

Because they are aiming for a heavy graphical "cinematic" looking game and 60fps makes that difficult artistically and impossible technically.

Exactly. What you see is all driven by the in-game engine. Trying to get all of that running at a smooth 60 FPS might not be possible without major FPS drops. Keeping it at 30 should remedy that. The transition between cinematic to player control has to be seamless, which they look to have achieved.

I'm not entirely sure many games on consoles should be 60fps unless they can guarantee that 60 is the minimum, it's not like on the PC where you can tweak it to sort the dips.

Can't speak for everyone but an unstable 60fps is a far less enjoy experience than a solid 30.
