Its a first gen/next gen game, if that makes sense. Expect buggy and un-optimized games for at least a year.

At 1080P I have between 120-150fps at full settings.
This is without Raytracing. Will test more.
There are dips to 75-80fps when you move to a new location for a second, otherwise it's smooth.

Tested the game with RT/DLSS HDR @ 4k, runs fine until i got to the woods where i saw the fps dips below 60fps in that gate room at the begining, the dual worlds hits the hardest with the fps dipping to low 40s then back up to 60fps

it's not as bad as people claim

4K with DLSS high and everything else max, runs like hot garbage with a 3080. Micro-stutters, huge FPS drops in cutscenes or when you look some items.

Yeah, it get really bad a little later in the game, drops to 15fps at every new scene. Even texture of time in the inventory for the items needs 1s to load, same issue as on Xbox.

Am I the only one not impressed with the character animation/movement? Why is there limited stiff directional movement?

Game runs like crap on any resolution. Not sure why people are saying 100+FPS. I always wanted one of those super computers that can play games like these at 100+ FPS but I can not buy one anywhere.
    RTX 3080/Intel 10850K @5100Mhz I have seen low as 3FPS @ 4K a lot.
    1080 down to 30FPS.

I do not have that big of an EGO so I am playing 1080P with integer scaling and it is good enough on 65" OLED TV.Woiuld be nice 4K but the single digit FPS is bad.

100+FPS under DX11(Steam version) which means no RT. Also, frametimes are a lot better in DX11. DX12 with RT runs like crap.

The game was actually anounced 2013 so it's almost old-gen game, i guess those performances were captured long time ago

Not really it performs like garbage on anything.

I have tested out the first few areas and at 1440p max settings (no RT) DX12 I get around 45fps minimum but it has stutters when entering a new room. I can use FidelityFX sharpening which gives you options of 50%, 75%, 100%, 150%, and 200%. 100% being your selected resolution and anything below being upscaled and anything above being downscaled. I can select 75% and get a consistent 60fps but it still stutters and fps drops to around 55fps and then back up again. Even at 75% and upscaled it still looks good.

Although I have noticed that the GPU usage is all over the place, it will randomly drop to 0%, to 30%, to 99% then down to 60% then back up and back down. Maybe its a bug in the AMD driver metric overlay but every other game I play at the moment shows the correct usage.

This game does have some VERY nice looking environments, post process effects, and lighting within them (even without RT). But the character models, animations, etc are really last gen stuff. You can tell this game was being developed for older machines and half way through its been ported over or they kept adding more stuff and they took too long so they cashed in on the new console launches. It needs some work but the story seems really interesting.

I watched the PCGamer stream a little and that dude was playing the game with everything maxed out and getting as low as 5fps!!!!!!!! FREAKING FIVE FPS!!! LMAO! I am going to wait a little to see if we get a magic driver or they patch the game. It's quite funny as the game is capped at 30fps even on the Series X afaik.

:O I noticed steam asked me to launch either:

    The Medium
    Or
    The Medium (DX12)

Didn't even think the other was DX11 lol I just straight up clicked on DX12. I shall give it a whirl!

Those 10 gigs vram start to be an issue already. When the world splits the game loads double the amount of assets/textures.

I think the devs spent their time optimizing the XS versions, hopefully a week or 2 should fix the game for everyone, i don't think it's that heavy

Excellent so far, but i am only a little way in, runs fine for me. No excuse for no proper 21:9 on release nowadays though.

Out of sheer curiosity, what's the issue with 21:9. Most games don't support it due to UI shenaningans but this game seems to have literally no UI.

Am I the only one crazy here using DS4 controller with 1/2 Refresh Rate fps cap and Fast Sync in NV inspector.

I can dig that. 3090 and all...
But Medium being 3rd person Keyboard adventure, and not Mouse and Keyboard shooter, I am not sure if I can tell the difference between 60 and 35 FPS.

i do notice some heavy drops when dual reality is invoked, down to around 60-65fps from 135-144.
