its easier to kill them when they climb a ladder
I'm having a certain problem which running L4D maxed out.
I can run around fine, looking at everything and it never slows down. But if I get in a dark room and shine the flashlight around I can feel the FPS drop below 30~.
From what I can tell my computer should be able to eat the Source engine (modified or not), so could this be a driver issue? I'm using 8.11 after a clean uninstall (Driver Sweep) of 8.10 hotfix.
I am not at the computer at the moment but I believe the max settings are 16x and 8x AA (this is a guess) running at 1680x1050.
Any other people have this problem??
It does sound like a driver problem; as my current system (my main computer went 'kablewy') runs a consistant framerate throughout the regions
I picked it up in a retail store this afternoon. Shouldn't it be introduced on the 21st outside of the US? Anyway... Very cool game. I followed the devs commentary and the choises they made make sense. The game runs great too. The lights look great and the flashlight comes in handy.
I wasn't expecting much, because I usually hate zombies in games. This time they make sense from a gameplay point of view.
I demand a DNA test.
Hell yeah! Bought it retail, in stores today. Fun as!
add: xloki91... for a good time
why the hell did the demo disable, so stupid.
first time I've seen valve pull something like this.
Naw, Chuck Norris > Tanks.
Method of killing a tank.
Set on fire. Fire alot of auto shotty rounds into him while keep backing up and reloading. A friend of mine and I play together we routinely kill him without anyone taking damage.
What a great game this is! Only one bad thing, single player campaign is sooooo short!!
So far I'm on the hospital stage, which is the second last, in less than an hour, I've almost finished the game...
Most importantly, I'm really enjoying it and loving the M4 Carbine

There are four campaigns in total, you're only playing the first =P
Same here, Play delivered early! I think I might be playing this into the early hours:nerd:
Now that is true humor - goog trick mate - have'em run around outside all day that'll make em pass out at 8
Haha, I thought there was something wrong, so it's like Quake 3 arena then, as in you do one set of 4 stages thinking theres only 4, it then unlocks the second and so fourth...
cool, seems like I'm only 1/3 finished...
i love provoking witches, they are cute when they run towards me for a hugburger

It is really 4 'movies' with 5 chapters each. Same characters in each movie, set in a different style/senario. The beginning sequence of the 5th chapter of the 3rd movie is pretty baddass.
My favorite weapon is probably the auto-shotty. It makes short work of the Tank and can just be spammed into a crowd of zombies and take em all down. Close 2nd is the hunting rifle, can shoot through just about anything and can take down a pack of zombies if they are lined up.
