    I sit 10 inches away from 1440p 32inch.

Changing from Native to DLSSp is hardly noticeable, if at all in some scenes. You must have a 1440p or greater monitor though. Its 10 percent IQ at most for 50 percent more frames.

Remember 1440p DLSSp > 1080p DLSSq *on same size monitor. This is mathematical fact.

Can also benefit by going to 4k and dlssP rather than 1440p native, depending on the dlss version it can be better IQ and fps.

I'm playing at 1440p using a 24" monitor. Everything looks sharp, even without AA. :D

But it doesn't guarantee that all textures packaged on the configurations were the correct quality or the correct files. I'm not saying that this is true for this game though. Also, playing at lower resolution will definitely be more blurry than playing at the native resolution no matter whether you use P or Q, this is more noticeable the lower your screen's PPI is

PureDark added Frame Gen in TLOU. The mod will arrive within this week as he suggested.

After 8 hours playing this game, I have to say it's one of the most overrated games ever.
Looking at how some people talk about this game, one would think this is one of the very best games ever.
But although it has a lot going for it, it also lacks in several areas.
The stealth mechanics and combat are very basic. Considering these are 90% of gameplay, and the rest is just walking around and gathering resources, it means gameplay is just average.
So average, it's hard to play more than an hour at a time, because it gets very repetitive, very fast.
Graphics are a very mixed bag. Sometimes it looks astonishing, especially the character models and animations. And some of the open areas are beautiful.
But on other moments, we enter a room and it looks like a PS3 game. Low res textures, bad lighting, low quality models, etc.
Story has been decent, but nothing special. I can only hope that the second half improves a lot.

If they haven't improved gameplay in the second game, and story and characters are as bad as I have seen people say about it, then there is nothing going for Part II, asides from graphics.

I personally hope they do bring Part II to PC.
    I love it.

Just because a few people don't enjoy it, doesn't mean everyone is in the same boat. People should have the option if they want it, and PC players experiencing the first game... for the first time, if they like/love it... they should have the opportunity to experience the second game.

as a story-driven games both parts are 10\10 for me. i understand it's a personal preference but if you didn't play the second game, be aware that the initial review-bombs of the second part are mostly based on story decisions that fans found to be.. not to their personal liking. when i played it on the Playstation and finished it, i was blown away of how good it was. if i can relate to other games, it's maybe similar to the review-bombs of mass effect 3 ending, some fans cried out loud that Bioware ruined the series because of it, and others simply judged the whole game - which was excellent, even if the ending was a bit lacking.

there are better story-driven games than the last of us, but not many. i recommend playing the second part with an open mind, and than judge it on your own. it's a killer game in my eyes.

Most people criticizing the game's story doesn't really pay attention to the dialogue and how they were delivered.

Always felt that way about this game, somehow because the story is depressing compared to Uncharted joviality, it triggered overrated appreciation in comparison imo.
It's some of the better story narrated in video games, with good performance capture and acting, some nice scripted cinematic sequences, but as for gameplay I haven't seen anything interesting me tbh.
It's a 60$ game, netflix is 10$, movie theater 13$, for decent story with good actors I have alternatives, I don't have my 50$ gameplay worth journey imo.
Meanwhile I felt Jedi Survivor is a worthy 45-65$ game, no doubt.

People LOOOOVE to hate good games, or good anything. There always that annoying guy in the group who seeks attention by claiming some great game, movie or series is "crap and overrated".

People have their opinions let it be. Not everyone needs to agree on everything.

I don't think TLOU is "crap", but overrated? Sure. Sometimes products are indeed "good", but the hype blew them out of proportion.

On the other hand you have games like Skyrim which I have never liked (truly horrendous combat, lots of manual issues to quash on PC like camera acceleration and a 60 fps cap, so few VAs that it quickly became distracting, "quantity over quality" quest design, puzzles with no depth, etc). Of course that's just my own opinion, others really love and enjoyed that game and I'm happy for them -- but to me that would be an example more inline with what you said in your comment where a product is heralded very positively and I genuinely didn't find it to be good at all (I actually did enjoy Morrowind and Oblivion before it more personally for what it's worth).

Basically my point is it just depends -- sometimes you have true masterpieces in film or games like Ocarina of Time or 2001 A Space Odyssey. Other times you have pretty good products that are simply overrated somewhat. And other times there are products which are maybe really overrated quite a lot. It's a fun topic to argue about :)

If people love TLOU more power to them, I'm happy they really enjoy it. For me, the first one was a pretty good single player game in its time, but that's about as far as it goes for me. In general I've not really been a fan of "the movie game" and prefer Naughty Dog's older titles like Jak and Daxter. But art's very subjective and all that. It's cool TLOU got ported to PC, but the "stutter struggle" issues have been really annoying. Going off the latest DF video on it, traversal stutter and shader comp stutter still exist within the game even on beefy systems :(

I used DLSS swapper for Metro Exodus enhanced recently and it reduced ghosting on those flying bat guys a lot. I'm wondering now if "the future" will be using resolution upscalers like DLSS and then technologies like Frame Generation (once it gets a lot better at least) as the standard. But I suppose it all comes down to how good they're able to get the FG image quality and input latency.

Sometimes I use DLDSR + DLSS in older games and it cleans up aliasing very well. My tests with FSR have been less positive at this point "but" the fact that those can be used on any GPU is huge and even FSR1 I really appreciate as being a much better upscaler than just scaling with bilinear or bicubic how we used to.

Yeah, a lot of "fans" bashing and hating on the game simply because the story made decisions they personally didn't agree with.
Loved seeing comments about certain characters, "They would never do that!!" Yes... because a character that is meant to be presented as a real person... would never make a mistake, or make a dumb, rash decision...

I love the second game. And I love the first.
I fully understand and accept they are not for everyone. And when people have valid reasons for disliking them... fine. That's more then fine, there's plenty of games out there and we don't all have to like the same thing.

Sony formula is a lot like Ubisoft formula when it comes to gameplay mechanics copy & paste, unfortunately.
But at least this particular game isn't annoying grind like GoW (and no stupid god drivel + most annoying companion imaginable) and gets over in time.

The combat system in GoW has much more depth than the combat in TLOU. Of course they are different, GoW is more melee based and TLOU is ranged.
But the combat in TLOU is very basic. And so is the stealth mechanics.

About Atreus, yes, he is a very annoying character. So very annoying.
Ellie at least has some personality and can tell a few good jokes.

I don't know, man. At some point you have to agree that it's not overrated. So game is overrated, HBO show also overrated? It's a giant conspiracy to overrate TLoU?

But come on, we know the real reason. Most criticisms from PC players is because these Sony games were exclusives on a console. If this was released on PC first, this would have been the best game ever for PC players. For example the first Crysis, which is a very mediocre shooter in itself, is highly regarded among PC players because it was exclusive for a long time.

Sometimes I think PC don't even need these big single player story games as they always get very criticized on PC. Maybe PC players are perfectly happy playing CS:GO, DOTA and POE for entire lifetime.
