I like the B&W one though it could probably do with more tweaking to enhcance the contrasts, see if you can get a hold of some photo editing software like photoshop but in many cases the basic stuff that comes with the camera can also do good in the right hands.

Those sky shots are very cool btw!

    keep at it ;)

Thanks guys :) I'll give the b&w one a bit of a tweak.

I do know my way around photoshop repo, I've used it a lot for photo restoration work, basic animation and so on. But I'd kind of like to avoid it, just stick with the basic crop and light/shadow options in Picasa for the moment. I don't want to be starting out taking pictures and think "oh I can just fix that later"... if that makes sense.

Yep that makes sense and photoshops RAW editor offers all those functions for enhancing the pictures nicely without turning them into something they may not be. I wasnt initially that happy with photoshop myself but these days its the only thing i use and i often just do some very basic enhancements, i dont remove things from my pictures or anything. Sometimes i might go wild and test lots of different things and practice different techniques.

Well it rained all weekend here and I never had the chance to go out and play with the camera. But good things come to those who wait and today brought snow and many hours out taking photos.

    Here's just three of them.

Nice. I like those. Can you damage your CCD if you point the camera at the sun for too long?

Thank you Funkgab, I appreciate the compliment.

We had beautiful weather here in NC this weekend and the camera was with me nearly every minute of the day. Here is just a few of many, many shots.

that pic of the girl does it for me try adding some levels to that with photoshop, and bring up the brightness a little, should look absolutely stunning

Thank you for the suggestion. I still have the RAW image, in fact that image image was heavily photoshop'ed. I don't normally mess with my images apart from contrast, tone and white balance, but this photo of my daughter was shot in my neighbor's yard and I still had my Sigma 105mm macro lens on the camera taking shots of insects and flowers. The macro lens is so sharp that I had to blur the background and try to soften things up a bit and draw more focus to the main subject and the bubbles......in the process I may have overlooked brightness and levels. I'll play around with this again tonight.
To see how sharp things really were, have a look at the grass around her feet.

Nice job Hilbert. I appreciate your help. I've spent some time tonight editing the RAW version which has really helped bring out her skin tones and I done a better job on the grass around her feet this time.

Here's another one from earlier that day.
