Was the picture of the prop taken at a fast shutter speed or did you actually cut the engine off? :)

Picture was taken in a Piper Seminole druning VMC Demo Training. The right engine was shut down to simulate single engine performance in a multi eng. aircraft. If you look at the angle of the prop. blade you can see that it was featherd to reduce drag. By feathering the prop. you change the angle at which the stream line air hits the surface of the prop. thus reducing drag and creating less yaw around the dead engine.

I have about 370 hours plus the next page of my log book which hasnt been updated yet. I am graduating this semester from www.erau.edu with a BS in Aeronautical Science and a Minor in Aviation Saftey Regulations. I have all my cerfificates up to and including my Commercial and am now going to be working on my CFI's (certified flight instructor) while trying to find a job. 172's are fun little airplanes to fly. Money is always and issue in aviation and unfortunely it requires a lot of it. Keep working on your Private Pilot. My private ticket and my instrument add on were the most fullfiling accomplishments in my life.

    Scott.

"Its better to be on the ground wishing you were flying, than flying wishing you were on the ground."

-The 172 i got my private in. Thing looks like a hunk of junk but she never let me down.

Trust me when I say that 172 looks new compaired to the one I used,I remember my instructor and I doing power on stalls over and over again to the piont I Almost puked LOL,I opened the window at 2000ft to get some fresh air and the flimsy door trim blew off:bugeye: I never had as much trouble with all the other things I was learning,Other than power on stalls,I told my instructor I felt like I was falling backwards out of the plane,I didnt feel right:frown: Nice to see a fellow airman around here.Nice pics BTW:rolleyes:
