i took a picture of my kid with a feather then decided to get a few stock photos from around my house.. caulk board, pins and make it look like they are pictures pinned to the board, ive added drop shadows and light sources also and i think its getting to be a nice art style image, im happy with my photoshop skills and how its turned out sofar :)

Not exactly proud of these as such, but it was my first attempt of ball sport photography and boy is it difficult, especially when you dont have the first idea about how the sport is played.

Had a mess around dropping fruit in a bowl of water...

This is with some coloured paper behind it.

It will be better when i mount the flash under the bowl when i try again sometime.

I like the fruit shots...cool idea, may try to replicate, were you using a remote to take the shots or were you having someone else drop the fruit?

As for the american football shots im curious about these shots, were they playing a game in a field with full pads or just running a practice\drills? They will be more interesting if you focus on action shots of the players getting the crap knocked out of them or the evasive maneuvers they do to not get the crap knocked out of them.

I was using a wired remote for the fruit shots, and i was dropping the fruit from various heights.

The football shots were taken at a training session to me so i could get some practice in.
I will do it for real when they play a match.

So then, it's been a while since I've posted. Picked up a new camera today, don't get scared now; it is .. *drumroll* a point and shoot (compact) camera.

Pretty much with all the manufacturer visits and tradeshows, the Canon + 24-105mm lens & SpeedLite 430 EXII is drag, so heavy to carry around. So I wanted a lightweight camera that can offer decent enough quality for exhibition, tradeshows and thus WEB quality.

I picked up the Canon G12 as something in-between DSLR and cheapo compact camera's. And much to my surprise, the photo-quality (especially with a little sun) is pretty amazing with very decent macro functionality.

Certainly not DSLR quality and/or functionality, but keep it in mind .. this is a point and shoot camera, settings are actually at auto with the photo's below.

The sharpness is pretty impressive, especially the first shot! But then the g12 is a great compact. Why did you pick that though? Why not something more compact-y like the s95?

Ah several reason, primarily this one though: I'm a big guy, the camera fits better in my hands.

They both have the same sensor anyway + the G12 has a better lens focal lenght and more small features like an external flash mount compatible with the 430EXII.

Aesthetically the S95 wins hands down in design/overall looks though.

Oh, I see, that makes sense. That said, do you ever plan on using the external flash mount? :p I'd never even consider bringing my 430 when I'm using my e-p1 (though I'm not even sure if they work together, I haven't tried)

Took a few pics of some hyperactive squirrels this morning. Nothing fancy, i just really like squirrels and i felt like stepping out of my comfort zone since i'm not all that great with wildlife photography.
