"Iraq. Forced to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war, an elite Army bomb squad unit must come together in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb"

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887912/

I think that as a soldier this movie was very good in potraying the emotions that soldiers have to deal with, especially the part about coming home. This movie is very much made in the likes of Beaufort which is also an excellent movie.

I can relate to some parts of the movie, especially the part where he is shopping at the end. I once had an RPG shot at me that missed by a meter in an engagement, then less than 12 hours later I was on a train back home and it all felt surreal; how I was just nearly blown to kingdom come and there on a train is some people discussing why that color doesn't match that shirt....

    Anyways, I recommend this movie.

I wasn't impressed. As far as war movies go, this would be near the bottom IMO. Not to say it was bad, just was fairly average.

Just saw it a few days ago, was pretty good :D
I like real life war movies (I mean with real tech that we have, not sci fi).

I enjoyed it too. Not much of a plot to speak of, but full of raw emotion.. I recommend it.

I keep hearing this is good, but for whatever reason I just seem to have lost all interest in war movies the last few years. Maybe because the market was so swamped with them a few years ago, and almost all of them were bad. I suppose with all the praise this is getting, and since it's apparently politically neutral, I'll have to check it out on Netflix.

Well, being someone who actually does that kind of work (EOD for those of u that dont know) that movie SUCKED! I can go on and on and on wabout all the **** that went wrong. And it didnt help that I saw the movie with a bunch of other EOD techs of all generations so we pretty much pissed off all the other people in the movie theater.

As far as 'movies' go it wasnt bad but as far as accuracy it couldnt be more far off. I mean, seriously, reverse curl a cluster of buried 155mm artillery rounds by grabbing the det cord. No no no no no no! Wrong! Cant/wont/shouldnt happen. Thats pretty much a good way to get yourself killed.

Its like a being a fire fighter and watching Backdraft.

...or like being a computer guy and watching "Firewall" :D

Great movie, saw it a couple of months ago. Casually, yesterday I had the chance to watch "Strange Days" on cable, also directed by Kathryn Bigelow. I saw it at the teather when I was a teenager, can't believe it's been almost 15 years since then!.

Anyway, I'm rooting for "The Hurt Locker" to win the best director award, though "Avatar" is a serious contender. Cameron deserves it too, he pulled something really huge there.

It was good but not nearly as good as I thought it would be and shouldn't have won that many Oscars.
