Kylzer, you're a star... (What boring film were you watching anyway..?)

So in all fareness magicdave26, your system seems about right then. getting some performance components would really bring out some great performance in your card...

Just for comparison, here is what 1 of these cards can do with a powerfull system..

    3dmark06..

    So.....!

It seems that card is capable of more if given a decent CPU to compliment it then.

Interesting tests guys, and yea thanks Kylzer for that test, sweet overclock for the Celeron, Im lucky that I can squeeze another 150Mhz out of each of my cores - anything over that requires more power and hits really high temps.

With any luck I will be buying the new Phenom II beginning of next month, so well see what I can get out of her then

Is that on water? That's a crazy low voltage for 1010 on the core.

Not really, default voltage is 1.125V and most 5770's can do 960Mhz at stock.

    1000Mhz usualy just needs 1.200V

    Not mine....

Just picked up a physx card...which basically broke MSI Afterburner...so I'm going to have to find a workaround for that one.

Will probably have to wait for RBE to support 5770s..

To be honest it broke last night before I even got the card, but now that I have it installed, and other people (with physx cards) have had the same problem, Unwinder is unlikely to help me out.

    all on air:
to hit 1000mhz: my sapphire needs 1.15v, the giga 1.20v & the asus 1.225v...

this was the best i could muster with my crossfire setup.

    amd phenom ii @3.8ghz
    8gig g skill ddr3 2000mhz (downclocked to 1600mhz)
2x xfx 5770 at 950/1350, would need more voltage to keep it more stable any higher. hopefully the 6core processors will help my score in future. either that or a 5950, lol

temps reached a max of 69, which is surprisingly good considering all i did was use arctic mx3 thermal paste.

but even so, i dont have any difficulties playing most games without oc. altho borderlands seems a bit too jittery for my liking atm. i think i'll stick with 9.10 until 9.12 comes out.

9.11 gave me a nice boost in performance when i tried it, but at a significant detriment to image quality. it would not let me set anything in ccc, no aa, no af, no vsync, etc. and for some reason, it would make my borderlands flicker and display artifacting (which was made worse because ccc wouldnt let me disable the ai). so either i got a bad batch of the drivers, or something else is up. either way, im fine with waiting a couple of weeks for 9.12.

i also had some issues with crossfire not activating with 9.11. the ccc would say crossfirex enabled, but games would wierdly run on gpu2 instead of gpu1, and it dropped my heaven benchmark frame rate from 60fps average (1920x1080, everything on except aa and af) down to 30, and to fix that i had to driver sweeper, yank out the second card, install drivers for gpu1, shut down install card 2, boot up install drivers for gpu2, shut down, attach crossfire bridges, boot up. that was too finicky for my liking.

lamely enough, i just realised ati's driver naming convention. 9 = year 2009, 11 = november. lol, im slow!
