Assassins Creed 2, click to open / download 5040x1050.
I'm messing around with the tiledshot command in Mass Effect 2 and I can't quite make up my mind as to which looks better between tiled or fraps.
Obviously the tiled method results in a smoother image, but almost blurry in comparison to the Fraps counterparts. The hud being completely removed is a bonus though.
What do you guys think looks better? Fraps or Tiled?
Why don't adventure game developers start using real time 3d for their games instead of prerendered 2d backdrops of 10 years ago. Heavy Rain for the PS3 is basically just an ordinary adventure game but look how far it went with the public eye for using the latest tech for its 3d engine. Maybe if more adventure game follow this route, more people would get into the genre.
Some high res shots ( 5760x3240 )
Metro 2033 (Not max settings, no AA.)
Sorry for them being PNG. Game looks great though, and the performance is pretty good for where I've been so far.
I prefer the tiled ones, because it removes these horrible "black corners filter" that you seem to find in every game nowadays.
Metro 2033 - 1920x1080 - Max settings DX10 - No AA (you'll see why )
Just a quick notice, the game isn't optimized at all. SLI is just okay and game isn't at all. Going from 40 fps to 15 fps isn't optimized.
some adventure games went 3d and failed (except a couple of games), i suppose many adventure games purists including me felt the games lost their charm, the 2d backdrops may be old but they still have this cool retro thing to them despite the improved graphics, i like that.
Fahrenheit touched the 3d borders, personally i loved this game, it was epic and one of my favorites, the ones that came after it were crap.
Heavy Rain is a good game, used to go to a friend who owns a PS3 and play there lol but despite it all, i still prefer 2d backdropped point n clicks such as ART OF MURDER, CHRONICLES OF MYSTERY, Ghost Pirates etc.
Prey still looks pretty good for its age! I may have to play it again sometime soon.

Overall it's playable. Some micro dips there and there...
Metro 2033 looks sooo good. How is the gameplay? Good, bad, mediocre?
I love it honestly. There's nothing mediocre in this game, you can feel that they have put their hearts into it. Atmosphere is amazing.
But you have to see this game with your own eyes in motion, it's just that great.
+1 I agree. The atmosphere is incredible. It feels like a "next gen" game.
A few screens @1920x1080 maxed AA 4x, AF 16x.
As others have metioned the screens really don't do it justice.
This is the start of the 5th level...which was insanely ridiculous.
post full dx 11 screen, as soon i get metro 2033
