The previous Dragon Quest XI images motivated me to try and clear up the game, think I'm at the first major plot point now although I think overall it's just the first act done out of three in total so yeah it's going to take time.
Not too much from the game itself though, didn't take too many screenshots although the above little flag reminded me of this piece of voice acting from Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 1 and it's intro video.
That scream, who did they even find for that little epic voice acting moment anyway, Max Payne finally finding a functional bathroom?
Though I suppose this isn't quite Warhammer level of dark and grim.
Although the great nerdy dragon was putting up a decent fight.
(Art style is pretty unique and has remained consistent through the entire series so that's really impressive with a few new designs introduced per game while keeping many of the existing iconic encounters.)
EDIT: But yeah 50+ hours and probably going to hit 100+ before this is all wrapped up, big game is big. Ha ha.
And I heard some of the prior installments were even more ambitious in scope although I suppose the chance of them hitting PC in some form is up in the air.
(Oh yes Square Enix more basic mobile to PC ports please. Eh I suppose there's been worse efforts and that's mostly for the earliest NES and SNES titles.)
And then there's Odyssey but I've gone a bit overboard with images from that now, also pushing close to 40 hours now and slowly wrapping up the islands and what not before going back to... finding the plot!
(Wack-a-cultist although there's some other dangling threads too that needs to the plotted up and resolved or just cut all down that seems to be working so far heh.)
EDIT: Though speaking of AC Odyssey the game just has such a large amount of detail to it's locations and lots of little lore bits and subtle details. Texture quality could be better though so getting close-ups of some of these just turns it into a blur unfortunately.
(Yeah I traveled far and wide and found one of the few non-nudity artworks in the game. )
(Whereas much of what you find looks like this: https://abload.de/img/aco021jdq5.jpg Granted that's a excellent art piece too although considering boars and tusks I very much doubt the old wise Greeks went hunting in the nude.)
EDIT: And another example from the Olympos.
There's little wall murals, shrines and all sorts of things everywhere.
(Though as usual with open world titles a lot of these are repeated in other parts of the game though there are more unique pieces too.)
EDIT: Though the games nature and scenery is quite fine looking too.
EDIT: And well let's end with Icaros I suppose is a good stopping point this time.
Dragon Quest Xi
Can some one plz share a older Version of Cinetools for Rise of the tomb raider the latest update crashed my game!
Still holding up, will be interesting to see what their upcoming game will be doing once it gets released.
Though once upscaling was off Quantum Break delivered some really high quality visuals with the small corridor like maps allowing for some really nifty image quality even on consoles and via a few tweaks and optimizations.
(And current NVIDIA GPU hardware at least should be strong enough to drive the game now at a higher framerate with that option disabled.)
EDIT: Well that just happened.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Found myself a little unicorn wannabe of a mercenary. Fist-bump brother Unicornius!
Yeah, I'm playing with disabled down sampling, rest max, except msaa and GI medium. Usually in 90-110sh fps area, 1080p though.. DSR 1440p is a bit too much if I want 144hz (fps).
Dragon Quest Xi
I noticed that setting brightness to 40% improves drastically the rendition of colours and the contrast between bright areas and shadowy areas like woods.
Steam or UWP version?
Because I remember struggling to hit 75 fps, haven't tried in a while tho. Dropping settings didn't seem to help.
Steam version here.
Steam too, global illumination at high is too much, I have that medium.
Also depends on the scene, sometimes I'm also more in 75fps area for few moments (heavy combat) Lowest so far I saw ~60, by lots of lights even at medium GI, but a lot less frequent then with GI high. Otherwise yeah it can go that high, I think newer drivers helped too.
I'm playing it exclusive fs and driver forced fast sync with 2frames, negative lod -0.500 and driver fxaa.
It runs super smooth now, at least compared to early days. I think I'm almost at the end of the game.. hunting that main boss now xD
Edit: ah I had reflections to medium too, instead of high. That had a nice boost as well
I remember checking nvidia perf. Review of each setting and adjusted to that for basically no visual loss.
How did you lower msaa ? Thought it was hardcoded at 4x ?
There is a ingame antialiasing option (guess postprocess), I turned off that and forced driver fxaa, looked less blurry
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Huh tadpoles. That's quite a odd little find.
Could you even see these things during normal play at all, interesting little detail. (And even in this photo mode zoom-in they're not exactly visible.)
EDIT: Yeah that's about the extent of things really, from scenery to murals to funny and buggy things and now well tadpoles! Eh could end on a worse note I guess.
(Now what might be add-on content have in store I wonder.)
^ Very nice detail indeed!
