RDR2. Just finished the story.
I must say... This looks really, really good. (Need to take motion blur out next time... It's one of those better implementations and does look pretty nice in motion though.)
Tom clancy's ghost recon breakpoint
Nice to see Breakpoint looking all sharp and detailed compared to current progress here with clearing the game one ??? at a time out of 1000's or so it feels hah well the post-process effects and TAA in particular kinda otherwise obstructs (obliterate really.) finer details, story is what it is against furry fanatics being all wolf like canine lovers united and world peace through leather and superior firepower or something only also wearing these outdated flasher coats and LARP or at most paintball masks DIY at home and some drone army that is all dismantled by this one dude and his other 40 some this one other dude/dudette over in Nowhere/Erehwon the cave of social networking. (Friends only would make that place actually load fast for once!)
Tanks still do not strafe though even if the Behemoth is a bit of a end-game challenge, look at this T-90 wannabe acting all special and cool or something. (Sure puts up a bit of a fight though at least.)
Star-Wars looking solid too, poor Stormtrooper there outclassed by the Purgetroopers and the armor (Thanks lighting effects!) looks like a public toilet only even more neglected and in need of cleanup though I like the callbacks to some familiar characters from what it looks like.
Only instead of Jar-Jar we have something like a warrior Gungan who's seen stuff, Vader grew a pair .. of boobs (Second Sister is a weird name but oh well.) though the crossguards a bit silly and like a training wheel and Yoda became all bearded gaming dad so I guess Yodaddy and the Purgies are basically just another excuse for having Troopers who don't suck, can aim and fight and don't immediately fail against a glowstick.
(Guess Troopers who actually survive more than one engagement and become competent get to paint their armor black as a status thing.)
Humor of sorts aside I keep hearing good things about the game and it can't be worse than some of the other spin-off material available. (In fact it seems like a stealth candidate for action game of the year so far, not bad.)
EDIT: Yeah so Stormie might look like a walking urinary but at least the armor makes a effort to look ceramic instead of plastic so that counts even if the poor guy can't match the higher tier versions who get red or black armor suites.
(Being able to actually see out of that visor unlike the others might be a advantage though even if their accuracy is often made fun of.)
Screenshots aren't bad either especially with Unreal Engine 4 and it having ALL the special effects going particularly during cinematic moments but at least Respawn were nice to add in toggles for some of it without brute forcing ini files and other tweaks.
(Per object motion bur looks nice in motion but getting a solid screenshot when that's in effect oh that's a tough one even in games using a higher sample count and update rate.)
And that's just one effect, film grain, tone mapping, near and far depth of field and varying focal points and objects going in and out of focus and more. It can look nice but screenshots can be tough in current gen games thanks to this.
(Chromatic aberration and some extreme developer splitting the color channels all evenly meaning it's normally always way too strong and pronounced instead of a light fringe effect and probably vignette and more.)
@JonasBeckman yea i used the in game sharpening looks pretty nice overall!
Sunrise. The long shadows show nicely
