Good screens, though i'm really not a fan of the blur
Some Croft face
Well I was going to take it easy with Shadow of the Tomb Raider but then Lara had to get weird with her hands.
Yeah no wonder that kid is staring, it's kinda like that one movie...
Though in all honesty model warping and stretching is nothing new, still funny though.
Detail wise the higher res 2d textures and higher polygon 3d mesh improves upon Rise of the Tomb Raider, shading and overall attention and care to detail though well it doesn't hold up as well but it's still pretty good if a bit flat looking.
Both look great though, overall Shadow has several improvements but the level of detail particularly on character models in Rise was amazing.
EDIT: Monster Hunter World
(Big bird, something is messing up the ground textures though so I'll have to try and track that down. Heh.)
EDIT: Dragon Quest XI
Forza Horizon 4 Demo
After todays patch (less stutter but i can't see those with FreeSync )
The Division DX12
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
(Really? I get the title wrong of all things, sigh.)
Cutscene, I liked the hair in this one even if it's in need of more pixels. Downsampling probably makes all the difference.
(PureHair the continuation or rebranding of TressFx seen here and in Deus Ex Mandkind Divided is pretty nice even if using it for multiple actors reduces quality a bit but it's still really good.)
Stone door, I like the reflections and the way it looked like clay rather than metal for the gold details although that's probably not intended ha ha.
Another ruin, the blue filter is a bit strong here for photo mode but I like what it did to the overall image.
Some high priestess or ritualistic guard for this temple here, spoilers possibly but I liked the character. (Boss battle later? Boss battle later looking very probable.)
Hallway, yellow light from the photo mode added a interesting tone to the doorway and lighting from it.
Lara's face close-up, better 3d geometry and textures or well more polygons and larger textures but lacking some of the extra finish and detail from Rise although still really good.
(Cutscene so probably adding some extra shading too.)
Cutscene just after this hallway, green lighting from the photo mode used here. Liking the overall room aesthetics here but it's just a cutscene and will likely never be used again.
Another entrance, this has that issue where the game is starting to look like it's painted due to textures being a bit smudged for some reason.
Underwater tomb area, one of many optional sites in the game, no idea why all the bodies here are propped up and posed but eh some designer had fun I guess.
Just another mook being taken out, it's not easy being a basic grunt fodder enemy.
EDIT: One more session and that should be the final part of the game from how it's looking, it's not too bad though characters and story could have done with some tweaking. Reduction in combat is nice although it's uneven and some of the gameplay and especially puzzle mechanics are really under utilized. Good ideas though if Eidos or Crystal Dynamics ever get the chance for a new game in the series.
EDIT: Also, nice to see Division still going strong even if the team is probably focusing heavily on the sequel by now. (And a few events for the first game unlocking some various rewards for Division 2 if the player reaches the required score criteria per each rank.) Game had one of the best implementations of screen space reflections and overall Snowdrop competed with some really advanced game engines though so far I only know of it's use in Division itself and then Southpark: Fractured But Whole.
And for the above images I've been focusing quite heavily on Shadow of the Tomb Raider now and posted a number of images plus these are late-game and might contain spoilers even if I try to avoid the worst of it thus they're direct links instead of embedded.
(Yeah my sense of humor and quirky writing is what it is but the description for each image is fairly OK I feel and accurate for each of them.)
EDIT: Or it would have been accurate if I had named the game correctly. Sigh. Ha ha oh well always has to be something.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Nope not quite at the end yet, first the crazy lady had to murder the local oil production and destroy the native populations only source of economy quite thoroughly.
Big statue, probably big valuable statue to be carted off to Croft Manor after this adventure.
Finally rid of this outfit and it's ugly skull helmet.
Lara getting ready to slay more of the local guards in the area.
Said local guards being quite dead.
Lara after a slight incident with a boat looking for her next victim.
And finding one quite soon, another trophy.
All the way through! That dagger isn't coming out easy from there.
And the next victim falls.
The oil refinery itself, time to blow it all up. (This one's pretty OK overall actually.)
(More than just humor even if it was totally wrecked like everything else Lara gets near.)
Lara going all out on this one.
Someone's going to get stabbed, many, many times.
Aww look at that he tried to struggle.
Ho ho ho. Machine gun time! (And then toss this piece of junk since the other assault rifles are better. )
Oil refinery, now quite dead and totally wrecked.
Next on the list, some innocent place that serves as a local missionary. Time to wreck this place!
Definitely the best looking game that I've ever played so far. Looks great in action too - the animation work is great.
