I've played all the Postal games, multiple times (except Postal 3... played it once and burned it from my PC).
And, I went into Hatred to have fun. Not to be offended.... but I just didn't find it fun.

It just felt bland, and forgettable. It just felt to me like the developers were trying to get recognized by making something shocking. And they got to into that instead of making a game that's enjoyable to play.
It just felt tedious to me. Boring and bland.
The only thing about it that was good was the visual style. But, that's not enough to hold a game.

Has Q2XP been updated lately or are you using some texture packs as well?

As all textures seem much crisper than on the version I'm running (downloaded maybe 6 months ago?)

EDIT: ah, you gave the link and final version released this month. Cool!
    ...
    • Add adapted Turik's hi-polygonal model pack
    • Add hi-res textures by Kurtis 'Xenobond' Smith
Still would like to know if you're using anything on top of Q2XP?

Not using anything else than Q2XP. It was updated so it also includes high quality weapon models and everything.

Played through Tomb Raider (2013) this week. Never got around to playing this game, even though I beat Rise of the Tomb Raider earlier this year haha.

(SpecialK was used for toggling the UI and DOF shaders which also got rid of the black bars during cutscenes conveniently enough.)

Bit dated but really fun to play so far, granted so far is pretty much just the start of the second chapter after having one scene after another with old men using WAY to much hair gel having a staring and scowling contest with the main character. :p
Excellent combat though whenever they get done staring down one another and things actually proceed to beat-down mode and in-between there's some story scenes driving everything forward one epic brawl at a time. :D

With some not-so-serious moments in-between and probably for some of the later on optional content that can be stumbled upon.

yeah it's a bit dated in graphics/audio design like a game from 2010

    fun game though

Definitively, just exploring the entertainment district and finding these side missions have been really entertaining and then the main story itself plus the free form combat and all the ways you can upgrade your combat styles and just utilize the environment plus the game provides a nice amount of challenge though some of it is also from trying to learn the mechanics and I absolutely suck at QTE's ha ha.

(And on the opposite side we have, whatever this could be.)
(Dialogue choices, oh this is going to go great giving players a choice between the obvious right answer, the really wrong answer and the really weird answer so yeah #3 it is.)

The game has a first person perspective but the render resolution is far lower when using this so it's no good for trying to take screenshots since it will be very blurred and pixelated thus destroying finer details.

EDIT: Ah I think I found the story again.

EDIT: These take a up a lot of space so tagged.

A little bit, from what I have heard some of the setup sounds similar with a small but very detailed area that can be fully explored as you unravel the story though Shenmue is older and from what I have heard the first game has a bit of busywork in it as you need to uncover events on certain days or a specific time of day and if you miss it you have to wait a while. Second game introduced something like fast forward though from the sounds of it the upcoming re-release will not the bringing this to the first title.

Shenmue 1 re-release should also be based on the XBox version so it differs a bit asset wise from the Dreamcast version with higher res textures but lower geometry detail and the licensed textures and such were replaced with generic brands.
Haven't played the myself though but I heard they got good feedback but might not hold up with modern games although having backed Shenmue 3 via Kickstarter I am interested in seeing the original two games for myself so it's nice to see them getting a re-release on current generation systems. :)

EDIT: For Yakuza Zero here there's also a Steam community guide for how to restore the removed original soundtracks from the intro, outro and the attract mode videos although since it replaces two movie files and then also one of the game archives it's a bigger 2.7 GB download for mainly two songs being changed out. :)

Something similar apparently happened in some of the earlier games too but it seems nothing else was removed or altered in this version of the game and it's very likely any cut content in the other installments will also be restored once their remakes roll out.

For which Yakuza Kiwami should be up next as the remaster of Yakuza 1 and probably followed by Yakuza 6 and Yakuza 2's remasters next year and whenever the PC port for these will be scheduled and then the rest of them.

EDIT: And from what I know there were actually a few other proto adventure/walking simulator games but Shenmue is one of the early and also pretty widely renowned ones although initial sales weren't the best from what I've been reading up on.

Lots of somewhat obscure Japanese developed games as well but now we're going from PS3, PS1, Dreamcast and all those way to the FM Towns and PC-98 systems of the 1980's and a lot of games that will probably remain mostly unknown though while screens and such can look impressive I don't think the gameplay has held up as well.

LSD Dream Emulator for one back on PSX which I first learned about just a few weeks ago.

Looks like Spiely here took ALL the drugs.

    Well, almost all the drugs.

Oh what could possibly go wrong.

EDIT: And something outside of cutscenes or dialogue.
