Yeah first time I used photo mode with the sniper type bows and noticed the arrow I was like WTF? Just a matter of finding a good combo ha ha.
On that note some of the animations such as idle interactions like this one can be pretty nice though others like this one well they were never meant to be seen up close.

Better timing or going for OtisINF's camera utilities and getting some actual reaction rather than the guard here looking completely unamused would help improve the overall look, as it is he kinda looks like he's taking the piss. (Well...)
Though going by the in-game photo spam on the overview map this is not very uncommon. Actually wish the game would save the preferences for this because while some photos are nice they interfere with map readability and the DLC areas here being smaller also means there's a big mass of photos all over unless hidden first.

Well have to get back and find some of the new enemies and areas Luxor here appears to be running a bit worse but the area might just be a bit more densely detailed and populated similar to Alexandria in the regular game, bigger map than the first DLC and a larger level cap increase plus new craftable gear and likely more new equipment so plenty to do, heard the quests are pretty good too although I've only explored the initial city here a little bit clearing some camps for loot to afford all the imminent upgrade costs. Ah those are not going to be cheap with the higher level cap.

Game certainly provides a lot of potential interesting scenes and such for great screenshots, ultra wide via Ansel looks fantastic but sometimes you just want to mess about a bit and then things like this happens.
(Straight through the clothes and dual hand grip to boot, half the chest exposed can't be good either and the helmet model was apparently out of date for hundreds of years by the time the game takes place though so was the kopesh which has an entire category of technique swords to it.)

EDIT: Well it certainly explains the stains I suppose, poor plant looks like it had enough and is starting to dither..err wither out of existence too.

(Judging by the relief here the weapon within must be of "meh" quality.) [IMG]
(Garland, that you? Immortalized forever for your stupid ploy of "immortality" ha ha. )[IMG]
(This guys pulls cheese pizza out of the ether, just don't ask I guess.)[IMG]
(Another camp full of incompetent hunters getting nothing done and just sitting around.) [IMG]
(Ye olde empty prairie, well there's rusty bits and weird coins to find rarely.) [IMG]
(Prompto trying to ???? a car he found, keep the damn belt on!) [IMG]
(Junk everywhere, supposedly a war zone but pretty calm for one.) [IMG]
(Awesome stuff on display which you can't buy and some junk in the actual store itself.) [IMG]
(Random potions, apparently Noctis does weird stuff to soft drinks and snacks for these.)

Trying to at least get through the first chapter for this session but we'll see, takes time to scour the map and locations such as settlements, dungeons/ruins and tombs are a lengthy affair to fully explore plus the encounters even if the overall difficulty level is pretty low and almost trivial if you rely on the DLC items.

Not too much else to say about these, fairly standard though TAA is offset by a 1.25x increase in resolution though framerate is around 20 - 25 as a result instead of mid-30's although it's doable for screenshots but not recommended for fluidity.

EDIT: RIP action shots I guess, well it kind worked but that was different. :D
So in this encounter the four bros travel down the sewer and encounter the arse-goblins or whatever they were.

Prompto gets punched in the ass, what wonderful start this was.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/814/39075003020_86a36ccb37_o.jpg

Ignis and Glado join the fray, two arse-goblins buff by means best left unanswered.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/802/39075002370_7a518c119c_o.jpg

Ignis takes a critical hit to sanity or perhaps sanitary, trying not to puke all over the place.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/785/39075001680_75932d4a9b_o.jpg

Goblins start gaining the advantage and look quite pumped up.
    https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4780/27014531398_80ed932c15_o.jpg

Things turn into a clustered mess, Noctis get his head smashed into the sewer wall.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/807/27014530098_9a1b5278d1_o.jpg

Prompto and Gladio fall behind because Prompto has to scratch his ass.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/799/27014528318_5852f80433_o.jpg

After which the entire group regains momentum but quickly run up a wall, literally.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/785/27014527048_b100148512_o.jpg

Rounding the corner here another group of Goblins attack, ass-goblins indeed.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/816/27014525878_3039dffbab_o.jpg

Gladio fails his sanity check and everything becomes a blur.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/797/27014524588_0161756bc8_o.jpg

More goblins turn up for the fight.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/792/39074996240_ec645515cc_o.jpg

Gladio absolutely loses it and goes insane.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/791/26012678707_aacd1511fd_o.jpg

Ignis joins him and they start flailing around like madmen.
    https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4771/39074995610_9833f72477_o.jpg

Gladio lands a hit, one of the goblins lets it rip. Another goblin looks mighty pleased by this.
    https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4779/26012678047_2055a4c5d5_o.jpg

Gladio reels, Igni no longer gives a crap, fittingly enough for the situation.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/803/39074994880_ff7545690c_o.jpg

Prompto as the last one standing goes for a desperate groin kick but ultimately succumbs as well.
    https://farm1.staticflickr.com/813/26012677457_c2bc1486fd_o.jpg

Well, guess I better grind a bit if I'm to survive this excursion. This first attempt did not go well at all.

EDIT: Well at least that other dungeon which looked like some generic cave had a couple of firearms, wonder if those are going to work better.
(And RIP storytelling too, this battle was just 100% ass. :p )

(Darkest Dungeon next perhaps? Can't be any worse than what I ran across down here.)

EDIT: Yeah that really doesn't work very well, less ass more ham!

Well there's more fail laden encounters I'm sure.
(Sanity? Oh as if these four bros could get any crazier.)

EDIT: Let's just tag that as it gets pretty lengthy with that text stuff.

Attempt the second on the sewers of insomnia and well grinding levels worked a bit but then samurai, slimes and a snake decided to join in with the goblins.

Welcome to insomnia, population - elsewhere.

The sewers, apparently some quest much later is meant to lead here but eh it wasn't locked.

Brother Banzai, just patrolling the sewers with his little slime friends and being a real pain to fight, not quite the same as old Yojimbo but still a problematic encounter.

And the slime things, these are everywhere and nowhere down here just popping up at random.

The strategy to end all problems, mob the opponent and stun lock them by any means required. Course most opponents are encountered in groups...

Pretty impressive for a generic sewer actually, not the best dungeon really but serviceable enough and quite a bit more sprawling than I had initially thought.

Yojimbo, thus far the biggest threat in this area but a cool dude otherwise. At least when he isn't murdering the party.

One of them goblins, found the way it interacted with the falling water funny. Meanwhile Gladio acting all tough one-handing a claymore is about to be half the man he used to be when Yoji rends him in half.

Last known photo of Gladio as he charges some Naga/Medusa Japanese hybrid snake creature thing. This thing might take some coming back to if it's going to be felled.

Thebes, nome. (Fields, farmlands and scouting silos?)

Bayek, going a bit primal here in the lands of the dead.

There we go, of course this had to happen. ( http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VideoGameCrueltyPotential )

While offset by the armor detail being a bit lower-resolution it's interesting that even the guards and random NPC have very detailed facial features and structures compared to the earlier installments.
(Though they do still "pop" to a lower detail LOD a few meters out though it's not quite as jarring as Unity or Syndicate were.)

EDIT: Well time to wrap this one up, tormenting guards and looting the land of all things of value has been fun but Ni-No-Kuni 2 comes out tomorrow followed by Far Cry 5 on Tuesday. :D
("It burns like a mother when I pee." <- Random / Every mook on Rakyat - Yeah that's why it's called a flaming arrow.)

    EDIT: Some more images.
(Contains spoilers for one of the new areas and some of the new encounters.)
Another one of the risen pops up, harasses some villagers and then leaves before I manage to finish it off. (They're asses like that.)

Boxer-briefs Bayek in his pristine white undies and belly smiley body paint, call it a war-face I guess. Ha ha.

New side quests, new characters and all the question marks you could never want awaits discovery.

One of the guards of the lands of the dead, in effect not too different from regular guards but a bit tougher.

The new flying flockers of the land of the dead, meet the vulture 2.0 I guess, these are a pain but they drop valuable loot at least.

Important characters await even in the lands of the dead, fetch quests even in the afterlife.

Forty days huh, well that's going to be one epic curse there. (And one really sore dude.)

As if the watch towers and similar in the normal world weren't tall enough to scale heh.

Doomguy must have been through here before Bayek arrived.

Trying to avoid cutscene shots, UI elements hidden via SpecialK's shader viewer (There were quite a few of them.) though camera control restricts things a little bit.

This one is from the intro cutscene, I liked the polygonal breaking apart effect when viewed from the ReShade depth buffer shader.

Castle catfish or what to call it, hard to get good shots of it from the similar corridors you're trekking through during this introduction part of the game.

Most everything here is using cat or fish motifs.

Easy but still forced stealth section, hopefully these aren't too common.

Larger encounter here, sneaking was encouraged but combat is pretty simple and enemies are fairly easy so nothing too difficult and more loot too.

Of course there had to be a sewer section.

    And slimes.

Away from the first chapter and onwards to the rest of the game with a pit-stop here to learn about elementals from crazy old grandma.

EDIT: Tech wise the game is not the most impressive looking title but art style is pretty good and the characters and creatures in particular are nicely shaded and animated though this can't be captured in full via a static screenshot.

Downsampling to reduce aliasing and increase sharpness or image clarity overall a little bit probably helps, it's a charming little game so far. Story is very fast paced however and the game is not the longest for how JRPG's can run upwards of several dozens hours whereas this sits around 30 which admittedly isn't too bad but some parts of the story will likely feel a bit undeveloped or rushed due to said pacing being so quick with introducing new characters and events all the time. :)

Should be a entertaining little story though, looking forward to continuing later on.

Not too much to say about these, disabled the black outlines on characters for the last image but mostly it's just hiding the UI elements and doing the corner hugging tried and true tradition of squeezing the player character out of the camera view ha ha.
Games growing on me, should be a fun little adventure although a difficulty option wouldn't have hurt to have. :)

Dunia engine, not quite up to par with Anvil or Snowdrop but it's holding up well enough, photogrammatry or how it's called for the environments really gives this a boost visually even if the assets and lighting isn't quite on the same level. :)
Slap some downsampling on though and it'll probably work fairly well, game uses EAC however so no ReShade or other fancy stuff until/if it gets whitelisted and I haven't found any working parameters or overrides so far.

It's a fun shooter although cultists and all but the AI is dumb though what else is new I suppose, open world and all so they're putting up a bit of a fight at least ha ha.
