    Damn! THanks for sharing. I just watched some videos on youtube and there is something (i want to say surreal) about those gfx. Like its almost how id imagined gfx would look in the future when i was playing quake for the first time all those years ago.

    Gonna set this up and waste a weekend:D

    after install use these console commands or put them into autoexec config.

    r_glsl_offsetmapping 1
    r_glsl_offsetmapping_reliefmapping 1
    r_glsl_offsetmapping_scale 0.04 (I used 0.03)

    if you do not want in game AA (huge performance drop with reliefmapping and dynamic shadows+downsampling) use fxaa

    r_fxaa 1

    Not much to see yet, a few moments of various fails when trying to land on a large station. :p
    (Don't bump into the station - or other ships - don't accidentally ready weapons while trying to find the key for landing gears and don't discharge said weapons, also don't land on some other persons docking bay or try to land without having said landing gear down and finally don't slam the ship straight into the docking bay by trying to land at high speed.)

    Thanks for that Marcel:D Its 01:30am where i am and ive been playing Quake for about 6 hours or so. Cant thank you enough for this.

    Dont know if you've seen it, but I came across this lighting mod here - http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/files/romirtlights_id1.pk3. Adds a few different lighting effects, mostly ambient from liquid sources etc. Cant decide which one i like most. The new gfx remind me of 90's special effects.

    Also, do you have an issue with RT lighting and it causing flickering blocky/checkerboard type squares in the distance (and some up close).

    EDIT: As for the game itself it's very much a sandbox experience and pretty open to whatever you decide to do although there is a primary mission to complete (And three more to unlock I believe.) but you are free to go about it in whatever way you want.

    Performance is great and it looks quite good too although the characters can appear a bit "plastic" looking or well not sure how to best describe it, might just be the rain effect too since the initial mission takes place during a rainy night weather whereas others can have other conditions like daytime and clear weather.

    Not much I can say about the gameplay as I only played it for a very short while but it should be pretty good if you like this type of game and probably more so if you are a fan of the newer Metal Gear Solid games.

    Plenty of options available as well from configuring controls and visuals to setting what parts of the UI to display and there's even different gamepad schemes to choose from if the default controls are not preferred.

    yes if you set full dynamic lighting some shadows are full of artifacts.

    use this command.

    r_shadow_shadowmapping 0"

    turned off soft shadows but shadows are still dynamic and without artifacts. Now you may set full RT lights in options :)

    Here are modified romis lights but with lower contrast. Looks more atmospheric.
