Whats your fps with the 7970?

 

Poor driver support (This being a Nvidia game, much like Battlefield 4 is a AMD one.) and Call of Duty has traditionally always worked better on Nvidia GPU's so yeah what's the framerate?

Between 35 ~ 45 in most scenes, rarely over 50 but I believe it's mostly due to using MSAA and HBAO+ but there's probably need for a updated driver for this game.

EDIT: Some tweaks were applied as well r_dof_hq was set to on but it resets to off unless you set the cfg file to read-only, tessellation was also changed from 1_near to 2_all which should improve detail slightly and monkeytoy was set to 0 but it has no effect on this game, no console prompt and no usable custom key bindings.

Visually not as bad as I was expecting (pics are vanilla) but proper lighting would do this game wonders.

Haven't played a COD game in years so have no idea if the engine can be tweaked to look better?

The game itself... pretty run of the mill. Was enjoying it till they gave me control of the dog then switched it off :/

 

Control of the dog......... as said in BF4 : Get the **** off me!

Jeez, really - control of the dog...

COD: GHOSTS

 

It actually looks a lot like BF3.

 

Until you play it and notice how lifeless and flat everything is.

2D overlayed effects for particles, birds etc. A severe lack of any sort of real time lighting.

 

if this was real life war. you wouldnt take the time to notice birds and flowers, plants.


"omg look at the leaves.." bamm im dead.

 

Good things it's a game... where, you know, taking in the visuals is a big part of the overall experience.

(For some reason the player is absent from the co-pilot seat during the sequence.)



Nothing special here, interesting to see this little knife-fight mini-game again.
