I dont give a shiat what anybody says....that looks pretty impressive.

It looks as good or better than some of the new games that I have played.

    Source is great.

Source has its own style and look, and it really is a look that suits my eyes.

I am going to need another playthru of HL2 now.

I am cringing at the thought of how big a download this is....but gonna get it.

On the topic of looking good, I think the Skyrim shots look fantastic, even though it is not my type of game....I think the latest screens look sweet.

The cool thing about modding is that you can grab a look that you like.

Hm strange it was fine here in any scene, did you run in maximized windowed mode or in full screen (alt+enter)?

Because it was a little slower here in windowed maximized mode + aero ~45-50 vs ~60fps fullscreen.

    :)

Holy crap, here goes my bandwidth for the month....over 8 GB for mod....plus need to load, HL2...EP1....EP2.....but it will be worth it....I may download some stuff this month and some next...but I am going to get it.

If you have already beaten HL2....then what is not to like, especially if you are a fan of the game.

Better textures look nice, add some diferent lighting an new character models.

    Makes the game very replayable...IMHO.

Yeah, this will work my GTX 570 ....but I am looking forward to playing it.

Hey WhiteLightning...does that GTX 580 have 2 GB vram

There's a much simpler answer than that. If people wanted to run it purely as 'intended' there would be no custom presets as such and everyone would just stick to the official release, instead custom presets are there to give people the ability to make changes based on their own likes/imagination/mood i.e there's an element of art and it's not meant to be purely 'technical' but instead the technical side can just as well be considered the subtler backdrop to give a little bit of sanity to it all.

Artistic ideas, as we all know, can be very abject and just because someone doesn't like certain types doesn't mean they are bad, instead some just require more of a refined, or even acquired, taste. If natural beauty is to be used as a yardstick then some people just need to have been at the right place at the right time to see things which can be the most unusual and easily mistaken for being nothing more than a painter's projection.

Simply put you can't please everyone.

Also as far as Boris' work is concerned, development has never been faster with 3 to 4 major releases, including half a dozen updates to each release, in the space of a couple of months. So not sure why you think it's slow. Additionally my in-game image and effects look exactly like they do in the [stunning] screenshots. There's many things you can say about Boris but writing ineffective and temperamental code is definitely not one of them.

I have not researched any more yet as i had to redownload from steam...HL2...EP1 & EP2

So I will download the cinamatic mod next month...I also prefer one large download over many parts, but will do whatever i have to do to get it.

It will be like HL2 2012
