unlike games based on the movies, this one was actually based on the animated series. [IMG]

Holy crap, those are the first enb shots that actually look awesome in all respects. Nice!

(Any chance on sharing you enb/config?)

That DX11 demo thing from the news section of these forums ( http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=366097 ) decided to try it and it actually runs pretty well at nearly 60 FPS constantly though that last scene demo with all the little gems and the clock nearly managed to halve that down to just above 30 FPS but all those little gems reflecting light and such is probably quite taxing. :D

Unfortunately the website states they use a sort of hybrid system and not full ray-tracing but it's still a impressive demonstration and for all the light calculations it still ran extremely well until that last scene so I'm quite impressed with it.

Due to how demanding that technique is I guess it'll be a few years yet before we see it in any titles other than 3D rendering.

Intel did that demo with Wolfenstein 3D back in 2010 using a server cluster to render the game and then outputting it via a laptop.

    http://blogs.intel.com/research/2010/09/12/wolfenstein_gets_ray_traced_/

I think they've also shown off a ray traced version of Quake Wars a few times but I don't think we'll see that stuff in games any time soon.
(Fake and hybrid versions of it can probably get similar results at much better performance so that's probably what we will see first.)

Global Illumination is starting to see a bit more use though, I think Stalker was one of the early titles using it although as a hidden command since it destroyed framerate on pretty much any hardware configuration and then Crysis or Cry Engine rather and Battlefield 3 have shown of some of it.
(Mirrors Edge had a really nice lighting system as well before that although it was a bit more static I believe but it certainly looked impressive.)

EDIT: Ah right Half-Life 2 with it's source engine (Seen above though heavily modded.) also had something like this but pre-computed into the textures or how it was, I'm not too sure on Source engine.

some of those Skyrim shots are bad, on a lot of them there is NOTHING in focus, the whole pic is blurry. it's like as if you smudged vaseline on a camera lens and then took photos. every screenshot needs something in focus.

One of the problems with more customized versions of ENB, it requires all sorts of other modifications to work as intended which I guess is why the default version is pretty light mostly focuses on new features.

From what I've read on the ENB forums there's all sorts of things you have to consider from the time of day to the weather setting and then fog values and interiors or exterior area differences so it's pretty hard to make a config that works well in all scenarios which is probably why there are a number of support mods that try to balance out some of these problems like fog values or interior lighting or weather conditions and their light settings.

I find the above images to be pretty good though, of course ENB tends to look quite good for still images but can be hard to get right when actually playing the game.
(And there's a number of bugs and issues also from stability problems to the problems with SSAO and some other things like how the effects on fire and water behave.)

Boris appears to be pretty bored of the game too judging by his forum posts so development seems quite slow but there was a nice update about two days ago which fixed many of the more noticeable issues with ENB 0.114 which is pretty good. :)
