Have you clear out the town hall that the KPA use as Ops centre next door?

I'm running Cubans with 2xAA in XP dx9, and i'm getting little shady black figures in the background... patched to 1.1. Almost like artifacts?
Also, the surrounds appear as I move closer towards them... For example; as i walk through the jungle, i can see patches of grass and shadows appear out of no where. Any ideas on that? I guess a long distance view problem? (LOD?)
    Thanks

perucas: i know what part of the game you're talking about. i didn't really get a message as to what to do either.... but i found out that one way to keep the game moving is to proceed to the objective anyway. Don't ask me what direction it is... think it'd be to the north, but i'm not sure.... you have to go up the hill near the village. Think you run into an enemy or a few here and there. eventually you won't be able to go up the hill any further, there will be a waterfall, and a small cave next to it, you have to go into the cave.

Nevermind... For anyone who wants a custom config, i found one that's better than Cubans Triple C. At least it is in my opinion... here's a link:
    http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=1905&lim=0

Take a look at the screenies at the bottom.

Well guys, here's my config. Please read and enjoy, you can view some screenshots in the screenshots thread:

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=267230&page=38 and downwards...

Be warned when using this config. It is made for my system specifically and runs best on Vista x64 with 3GB of RAM or more.
I tried to make Crysis look as realistic as possible, everywhere, everytime, almost always choosing quality over performance. This config WILL run bad on most single GPU solutions and even on some multi gpu systems...
I bumped the texture resolutions as much as my 768mb VRAM likes. So keep in mind that with insufficient VRAM you WILL get graphics lag using my resolution and AA (1920x1200 2xAA).
This config is set to make use of 4 CPU cores, I don't know if it actually works and what impact it will have on systems with lesser CPU cores.
Change resolution and AA manually in-game / Use at own risk

Please spread the word if you're using this configuration file. Mention my name while posting screenshots, if you wish: Credit me :)

    Install notes:
    - Open note pad and copy/paste code
    - Save as autoexec.cfg
    - Save as System.cfg
    - Place both files in \Crysis\ directory

    Features:
    - Realistic lighting: That means no over saturated HDR, but a projection of how it's seen by the human eye while maintaining beautiful colors and vividness.
    - Increased draw distance
    - More realistic shadows: Imho the shadows look very close like in real life
    - Increased texture quality: I bumped the max texture resolutions as much as possible without an unreasonable performance hit.
    - Many more small adjustments (for example water update speed or lod ratios) to get the most out of Crysis (quality wise :p)

Strakyatt try this. go far away from the ship, when you have the binoculars locked on press the fire button. and wait about 1 min

It's just you. I got no crashes or graphic errors. Worked very well. Had a lot of problems with original...

For me, using both 4GB and 8GB configurations, I still have the same memory leak issue. Google it, there are lots of people posting online about this now.

    CRYSIS crashes on Vista 64.....

Hay all, I just got Crysis and I love the game. It's Crysis Special Edition to be exact. I'm having issues with it running with Vista 64, it runs perfectly in Vista 32.

No issues al all in Vista 32 but Vista 64 it crashes in about 2 minutes and the game isn't even playing yet. I'm in the main menu trying to make adjustments and the who computer goes down - freezes up 100% and I have to hit the RESET button to get the computer back up. My specs are to the left and the setup is tested and stable. I just downloaded the latest version of Nvidia dsiplay driver for Vista 64 178.13. I'm using the next latest display driver which should be fine anyway.

I would like to run it on Vista 64 to see if I get a little better results with more available RAM. I'm not looking to get more frame rates. but I'm lookin for less slow downs during the game. Most of the settings are set to medium and the AA is at 8X and I get a steady 30-40 FPS with the highest around 57FPS whichs is fine.

In Vista 32 I have to stop the game after a while and restart it because it bogs down. When I restart it it's fine for a while. I'm thinking it may be the RAM since Vista uses so much of it.

What would cause the whole computer to go down with this video game going???? In about 2 minutes to........:(

:D I think I fixed it. I installed the latest display driver software.:D

yeah... not too hard to figure out what you're supposed to do. i mean... it has a minimap in the corner.... and it has an arrow that points to where your objectives are.... or at least in the remote area.

Hope to get my hand on it soon , looks great.
Crysis has a very active community, which is obvious a good thing.

And Maps, what are the most "awesome" around?

There's quite a few decent maps in the link below, the ones with higher stars and the most downloads are obviously the better ones, try the one called 'the resort' (quite a demanding map though;))
