It may not be the fastest rig out there, but it gets the job done pretty decently.

Stop teasing me, I don't have any more towels
The phases of my rig:
Phase I (very long ago): Logisys acrylic case, POS motherboard, S939 AMD 3000+ at 2.7GHz or something crazy for the time, 7300GS, WD 160GB, 2GB A-DATA ram...oh goodness
Phase II (long ago): Antec 900, S939 X2 3600+ at 2.66GHz, 2GB A-DATA still, 8800GS (might have the GTX in this pic)
Present-day: Modded CM Elite 341, DFI LanParty P45 JR, E8500 @ 4.1GHz, 8800GTX, 4GB Dominator, 300GB WD VelociRaptor, Xonar D1, Silverstone 700W
i know this picture is hideous and i apologize but my card died as i took this, well i figured it out after i took it when it never gave a display so immediately i took things back apart to try to figure out why no display, so some how it died and im HOPING diamond will rma it but, idk we'll see..anyway heres the last pic before it was ripped apart(would of been finished for a while)
@DementeD That's a serious bend in your GPU.
^ yea someone at xs pointed that out to me i cant believe i didnt see this before, but i think its from the 24pin, it comes out of the tray like even with the card and then goes on top of it to plug in. So i think that was pushing it down but idk for sure because its not installed anymore.
I should have said that I like the overall look btw. Hope you get your GPU sorted soon
hehe thanks man i was definitely happy with the turn out and i also hope this gets sorted out in a timely manner, ive never dealt with diamond rma i just dont think it would be as easy as evga which ive dealt with a few times and was amazed by.
My ex HAF 932.
And the Obsidian 650D that I got a few days ago.
I'll be uploading some more photos soon, once i get everything cleaned up :nerd:
Pentium II 450mHz
512 mb PC 133 SDRAM
3DFX Voodoo5 5500 AGP
Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
Gateway G6 Case
Windows 98 Second Edition
I know, I know, its probably the most powerful rig on Guru3D, Im thinking about liquid cooling it in my bathtub.
VOODOO 5 5500, you my friend won, no contest. period.
Don't forget the soap, the foam makes the cooling so much better.
My first real update to my rig in about six months.
Phenom II X4 945
Mushkin Silverline DDR2 1x4
Xigmatek Dark Knight
@Brebaz What do you think of that cooler? I was debating either getting that or the Dark Knight.
Media card reader and PSU came free with the processor and heatsink.
Stock heatsink next to the Dark Knight.
Had to remove one of the heat spreaders on the RAM, wouldn't fit under the heatsink.
Haha.... that's gotta suck..... "My first real update to my rig in about six months".... immediately after someone still running a P2.
Must say.... it's not often you see ISA slots anymore.... hell, even ribbon cables are becoming a rarity.
i still love that dark knight cpu cooler
used to have it myself and did a awsome job
are you able to turn that CPU cooler 90 degrees and have it push the air to the exhaust fan out the back? Would probably see better temps and might be able to fit your RAM in there.
Look at the mounting system and answer yourself...
That stock cooler is from Phenom II x2, why didn't you get x4 version (by Cooler Master, heatpipes and whatnot, still completely ****e)?
There's only two ways you can mount it, fan up, or fan down.
That's the stock cooler that came with the X4, so either AMD fudged up or something.
