I got my GTX 295 back plate yesterday and did some testing before and with, in OCCT it caused a 5C drop. I can't understand all the people bashing using it, saying it will make it hotter. Do these people not realize the back plate is essentially a huge flat heat sink for the rear of the GPU (connected by a thermal pad). It's the same concept as saying VRAM heat sinks cause temps to go up...but we all know this isn't the case and just like with VRAM heat sinks the back plate distributes heat.

If you felt how hot this backplate gets it's obvious it's used to distribute heat, add support, and look cool.

I'll try to post pics up tonight, but I may not have time before I have to drive back to see the family.

It seems to be rare as diamonds. I had an idea of that thingie but it's just not possible to buy it in my country. And it seems it's also hard to get in other countries.

On avg in OCCT GPU I saw a 5C drop which is expected considering the back plate is just one flat long heat sink connected by the thermal pad on top of the rear of the GPU which gets close to as hot as the actual GPU.

eVGA actually told me to just put the back plate on top of the serial sticker, but there were 2 screws under the serial sticker. So I moved the sticker to a loaction where there were no screw holes. I hope to God this does not void my warranty, but what else could I have done? Put holes though the serial number? The damn thing says not to even remove it, much less drill a hole in it.

Great, they look disdainfully at any game that approaches them. They then unhand a glove and slap the game across the face. Thereby causing grave insult. They then punch it to the ground piss on it and then go **** it's girlfriend! lol:D

Just got my Corsair Obsidian 800D totaly beautyful case. going to be slowly upgrading my rig over a few months thinking of putting some case lighting in there as well as populating the 4 empty 120mm fans. but my next two upgrades are going to be the Corsair HX 1000W and H50 water cooler.

Works 'slightly' (1-2'c) better than my old TRUE (same fans, washer mod) but was soooooooooo easy to setup, took like 1-2minutes in the case opposed to the 10 minutes and many cut fingers on my TRUE :p

    Tis quiet also.

I have mine setup with 2x120 Xiggies on a push/pull exhausting air outta the case.......

    Hope this helps :D
