yeah.... you could. doubt it'd be a good temp though, unless you got one beefy fan on the side panel or somethin.

why don't you have a fan on your HR-03? If you are having trouble with high temps it seems pretty obvious how to fix it. Why buy a $50 cooler and not use a fan to make it actually work?

Buy a fan for the Hr-03, the case is massive and the motherboard allows enough room for you to fit a fan from the looks of it. The fan could just blow up into the 9500 or 9700 cpu fan you have there. Shouldnt effect cpu temps at all tell you the truth.

So techincally you could have two sli cards with the hr-03 on it with fans...in that case atleast.

That would be sweet - having SLI with HR-03s. I'd say the best way for the heatsink is the regular mount under the card with the fan on the bottom of the fins blowing air up through the fins and toward the card. That's how most people have it and that's probably the best. natural convection will help in that situation too since the heat rises anyway, the fan just helps it out. I bet your temps drop 15 degrees at least if you add a fan.

Weston: my temps might drop a bit... but i doubt 15 degrees. it idle's now at about the same temp as it did when i had the fan on the CNPS9500AM2 blowing the air in it's direction, as well as a 120mm Aerocool Xtreme Turbine fan sitting on the heatsink blowing down toward the card. might help to have the fan in there blowing the air up and out of the case... but i need to buy a fan grill for that yet.

as i said earlier.... tried having the heatsink hanging below the card, and the Aerocool Xtreme Turbine up near the HD bays blowing across the heatsink, and it didn't come anywhere close to the temps that i get in this current setup..... actually about 20 degrees hotter. the CNPS9500 doesn't move that much air... but apparently it's enough to keep the GTX at a nice temp.

and in case you were wondering.... 54C is that idle temp. during HL2DM i don't think it even hit the 60's.... but i could be wrong.... and by "i", i mean NVmonitor.

..... why the fans on the back? i know because of it's "open back plate design".... they'd technically help pull a bit of air out of the case.... but said air would have to be pulled around the wires as well. having a door on the back is.... well.... just inconvenient as hell. imagine having to plug all the crap in. you'd basically HAVE to have the case in a wide open area when you hook it up to all your other stuff, because were it tucked inside a desk or pushed against a wall... it just wouldn't work.

Plus.... i do have to agree, it does look ugly as sin.
