Of course you'll get random stutters with that setup.

Vsync + FPS limit of 60 is going to cause that as the exact refresh rate is not 60.000
No driver is going to fix that.

Appreciated but that doesn't make sense because I have immense smooth gameplay in many other titles, for example, Doom is just pristine.

And as I said, this has not always been the case with Battlefield 1, nor Battlefront 1, absolutely perfect stutter free gameplay, and this is how I have played for years by the way, always 60hz, (or 59.97 .. I THINK) 60FPS cap, VSYNC, this seems to be a recent occurrence for me, but, no matter, I am fully aware being in the niche, things don't always go my way

There's still the possibility it's something to do with Windows 10... As it's forced upon us coffee lake users

I remeber bf3 and bf4 both use to show me 59.97, but then nv or windows fixed it again with newer updates.

Win7 was ok, early win8 had this glitch, win8.1 fixed it again. Win10 th1 had it back, then it was fixed again.. and some drivers fixed it too..

This was also at dvi, hdmi is.more prone to that glitch.

Yeah I am connected via HDMI, wonder if it's worth trying DVI to HDMI !? I have a DVI to HDMI cable :/

I was just playing TC:The Division though (you know what it's like, new hardware, gotta try a bunch of games with it :p ) for about 30 minutes and honestly it seems perfect to me also.... Has some update or driver pooped frostbite!? I wonder :/ who knows, I can try an older driver maybe, just updating because I really don't think I am going mad, and surely if it was something in my system or hardware, (or cabling) it would be with more games??

And I think the way I play actually makes it EASIER to spot these weird frame rate/frame time!?? Inconsistency behaviours.

There’s no way you wouldn’t get stutters in that setup, even in other games.

Read through this, explains the issues with your setup and you may find a fix.

Well as for the first thing you said I'll get back to you about that.

However thank you! That looks like an interesting read, I have used blur busters a few times before, I should likely find something helpful there.

    Cheers dude.

PS I can't help but wonder if Windows 10 is cause for any issues I am having... I mean, it keeps changing my Nvidia driver, after I have put in an older one of my choice - this is madness

UPDATE: Probably the most annoying thing ever, nowhere do they tell you where the hell the RTSS config is.... I can't find it, google doesn't like me, just annoying.

I've finally decided to get a 1080Ti in order to replace my 980Ti after 2 honourable years. Which one should I get?

Agent is right pretty much with regards to performance but avoid the MSI Armour and also it DOES depend if you like 'quiet' some are better than others in that respect.

I had two EVGA SC2 and sent them both back due to fan noise.

Aircooled or water? If its WC then as mentioned the cheapest with a good warranty. I bought an MSI 1080Ti FE with a 3 year warranty on release day from Amazon for £690 and it runs flawlessly at 2050mhz. Ive always gone FE cards as ive watercooled since 2004.

    Nice one, lucky you.
I got an early FE, not a good clocker, it got around 1950MHz with lots of noise.
To make it silent I put an Accelero Xtreme III on it which got me 2000MHz with temps around 50C.
Main goal achieved, silence and it will last a long time. No boundaries broken though, down 5% on max performers.
Not that it matters, its so quick!

You have a very good card.
I'd like to see what that can do under water.

Ah, looks like it is under water at 37C max :)

Anyone has asus 1080ti oc review vBIOS? I bought this card and would like the factory oc mode to be always on.
Hilbert doesn't have the card or bios anymore.

Thanks for the replies guys. In the end I got the Strix OC from Asus, awesome card. I can really tell the difference, everything got much smoother and I can finally afford 4K without playing at 30 fps. I am very satisfied. The card boosts to 2GHz with no OC, I don't know if I can try a bit more, honestly I am getting great perfs already.
