Sorry man but there is no ASIC anymore. Woof, that's pretty good. So the G10 already supports Pascal? How's the noise and such? How much does your card throttle down? And what's your max temp again? I read a bit on that cap and it's just a bug since 144Hz monitors should be able to display 144fps and not 93. Check your frame limit setting in Options and you'll be able to change from Display-Only to Off. Note that you may have to select a resolution with a 144Hz option. Unfortunately it feels like the game broke G-sync or something plus the performance is not very good for some reason. Not sure what happened...
Did not want to wait and was able to snag a Zotac GTX 1080 FE from Newegg. It ships tomorrow. I already had delivered an EK waterblock for it.
Tried OC some more but if I add any more than +110 core it starts "artefacting" even if the memory isn't overclocked, this means sable 2038 after throttle from 2063 is max for this card. Power Limit (Power consumption) never exceeds 90% which is weird or the card is simply very energy efficient. Temps never exceed 72 degrees and fans stay at 55% which isn't audible. Disappointing considering we got two 2.1GHz guys here already.
Its all about temps dude. My card with the twinfrozr also got to a ''toasty'' 72c and would throttle down to around 2Ghz. With the G10 its 2139Mhz and ~54c and never throttle's So if you really want to get the max out of your card, get a G10 with atleast a H75/X40. Noise depends on the fans you use, i have 2 GT's (Gentle Typhoons) at ~800rpm. Almost dead silent.
@Fusion_XT I'm currently using two 980Ti with G10 and X31 on both..Planning to upgrade to 1080 SLI...Did you put heatsink on the VRMs? My 980Tis already have heatsink on their VRMs..
1080 is OC the same regardless of ref or AIB card. Best to just get the cheapest one you can get as it will just be luck if you get a great overclocker.
Even though i can run 2.1 GHz as well i am now just letting it sit right at 2025 MHz with 1.00mv. Running 2.1xx GHz with 1.093mv will just throttle way to often. Btw u can get a asics rate if using gpuz 0.8.7 and older
Despite of the temps beeing lower there's nothing more to it. Before having unlocked bios mods u will see the typical 2 - 2.15GHz regardless of the cooling...
Have you got a link to a review? Because I still suspect that a bios alone won't do miracles here, no matter of the cooling.
Nope but u may be right. Even if these chips need less voltage the smaller size will lead to higher temps. I don't realize much of a difference in temps between my old oced tx and this card. So yeah a modded bios could lead us to a higher pt which will result in less throttling but increasing the voltage may not be that efficient... Who knows
I'm so used to Maxwells 80 degrees but you're telling me that Pascal needs to stay frostier than that? I'll try 100% fan profile when I get home just for the kicks. G10 is appealing, I'll think about it. I checked compatibility on NZXTs page and the MSI Gaming X isn't even listed. How did you know that it would fit? I have an ASUS Strix coming in too
Klote idd but can't do much about it hehe :bang: The thing is I have put my old card up for sale and somebody offered an fair price but I can't sell it before I have my new one Ps I see now thay have raised the price at EVGA for the FTW verison with 20 bucks. I have it cheaper so that is comforting
