Btw nobody seems to be worried by the fact that they moved the 680/780/980 price point +$100 up.

Well they did invest BILLIONS in developing it. :puke2: They're trying to squeeze as much as they can before amd comes with something competition worthy. Then they reduce the price and are seen as martyrs. Not.

Most likely a SC version from evga will feature one 8 pin and one 6 pin. I would expect the superclocked versions to go up over 1800 mhz and boost over 2000 mhz. We can see the potential thanks to nvidia's demo that the card can achieve 2100 mhz and likely higher. I will be looking to run the 1080 i get at hopefully 2200 mhz :nerd:

My guess is around 30% faster in standard gaming. The overclocking potential of the 1080 will be the ultimate deciding factor for anyone with a 980 Ti I suppose.

"1080 Owners" Thread. LOL! Bit premature, isn't it?

Buying a 1080 "Founders Edition" is interesting. Personally, I'll have to see the benchmarks, async compute, and then maybe have to wait and see what AMD offers. But I will need to do something in the not to distant future, to better feed my 4k screen.

I'm just waiting on how they perform in specific CUDA renderers if its really 2x faster than Titan X or 980Ti,if yes then I'm would upgrade without the question

Just CUDA Core count is bit on low side,I'm looking forward for some tests in Octane Render and IRAY and from this I would go,in past there has been few issues with Octane when GTX9xx series have poor performance compared to 7xx series and then Otoy updated engine for those cards, due this I'm not just jumping ship

    Thanks,Jura

They saw a 1080 run @ 2100 Mhz core clock at only 67 deg C. They think it was the founders edition, but it's only speculation right now, since they don't know what card it was.

lol couldnt resist. Honestly i think it would be better if they made a 1090 instead of a titan this time. 1090 > 1080 Ti > 1080

Because it doesn't people are so obtuse and the scenarios where that .5 GB of slower ram made a difference were not to the point of mattering.

Feel really sorry for the poor saps that bought the Titan X, 970 and 980.

You should know by now to only get the TI
