I just hope that them aftermarket ones are going to get cheaper but my guess is there going to be like 50 to 80 euro more expensive then the founders [reference one]
Finlands price so far 799€ for everything. Spotted KFA2 in Germany for 699€. Everything else is quite a bit over that. We might see that 599$ msrp when autumn hits. Aftermarket cooled ones were exactly the same price as the Founders here. In germany some were tad less but not much.
It seems so far aftermarkets are 730-799€ what I have seen. When the really good ones come around those will be over 800€ easy. http://www.jimms.fi/fi/Product/Show...x-geforce-gtx-1080-oc-naytonohjain-8gb-gddr5x http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/8192MB-EVGA-GeForce-GTX-1080-SC_1062838.html https://www.alternate.de/EVGA/GeForce-GTX-1080-SC-Grafikkarte/html/product/1277622?tk=7&lk=8406
That STRIX 1080 looks sweet but damn, 800€. Looks like it will keep those 730-800€ depending on the brand. Still more expensive than gtx980 ever was.
For now, sort of. 980 prices were also inflated at launch, I expect them to settle but *a* price increase is justified. 7bn transistors, only manufacturing costs account for probably 15-20% cost increase per die(transistor cost is higher, more transistors than gm204) , then you have to add R&D costs (nvidia uses custom cell libraries, developed ad-hoc, for the first time ever on 16nmFF+) and I'm not surprised by $50 price increase. When you take 599$ msrp and factor in vat and import tax, eu prices arent far off us
I dont know about Finland but here in Italy reference 980ti was selling for 900+ euros at launch. Reference.
Less here at launch actually. It was less then 799 for the reference model. 699$ was the msrp for that too I think? The current prices ain't far from that 699$ msrp really. If the cards were 650-700 they would be closer to the 599$. With our vat and import tax that is.
Honestly considering it just launched, it effectively costs more to produce, the prices are fine. A gigabyte extreme costs as much as FE. Like I said FE is artificially high priced so it doesn't compete with AIB. FE is a premium 'collector's' blower design. Vapor Chamber is pricey, so is all that metal. It was never meant to compete with aib designs
Well i will pass , not gonna pay this insane amount for a video card. Its more expensive then 980TI at launch in my country. Looking forward to what the 1080TI will cost, if it will pass the €1000 or not.
