lol! Honest mistake Sir Sherlock! Good eye btw.
boring review with all the benchmark. i prefer more technical & details not gimmick benchmark.
review youtubers like to act pro but how come when GTX 970 released, they can't even examine the 3.5 GB VRAM fiasco?
That video's gone.
After the first review of Hilberts GTX 1080 i can safely say that i have similar performance as mine Gigabyte GTX 980 TI G1 Gaming, i can say this without flaws because an factory oc-ed gtx 980 ti from any third party like msi and gigabyte are like 5 to 10% faster then a titan x with reference cooler.
I was going to upgrade my gtx 680 for a 980ti this week... Now I have to wait till next month ……… fml
Hilbert should test a aftermarket third paryt GTX 980 Ti against a GTX 1080 i bett its getting very close performance wise, it surely wil defeat a vanilla titan x.
Keep reading about this Fast Sync but I can't find any info on whether or not it'll be available for previous gen cards like Ansel is, anyone know anything?
fast sync is for VR purpose not important to me cos i personally not interest with VR.
NVIDIA Fast Sync
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 also brings new technology called Fast Sync. We can’t give you any details right now, but judging from the graphs, this technology allows much faster frame rendering (30-40ms) compared to Vsync (90-110 ms). My understanding is that this technology is trying to bring better user experience in VR by replacing VSync.
Ill wait for the 3rd party MSI version, anyone else?
thank you Hilbert Hagedoorn for the long awaited review finally, could not agree more with conclusion, anyone with a 970/980/980 Ti or a TITAN X specially with a good factory OC 20 to 30% and a good cooler should really wait, any one with an older gen GPU it's a worth update "if you are up for the over priced reference i mean founders edition" :nerd:.
other than that wait for something better the AIB or the big brothers TI/X.
sadly we did not see a VR test or a comperson.. the only test that comes to my mind with marks is steam VR test.
one more thing was the driver ver in system info panel 368.13 while the latest driver to download and all of us are using is the 365.19.
probably something forced on Hilbert by nvidia...any ways would be nice is someone clarify.
and the "The new overclocking features that Nvidia introduced are a bit of a mess. They require a specific driver and the tools available crash more than they work"...what OC features? what tools..would be nice to know.. just saying.
again thank you Hilbert for the effort for the review and for your honest opinion at the end.
re posted on the GTX 1080 review
Guessing from the benchmarks a 1500-1550Mhz 980Ti might even beat the stock GTX 1080 in a few games.
That's easy. Open side by side if possible the GTX 1080 review and the Gigabyte 980Ti WaterForce review since its the latest of a 980Ti.
Hint: The performance gap is seriously narrowed down.
Before some jump to say I'm defending my card, I'm not. I'm seriously tempted by the GTX 1080 too.
Just a headsup

Yeah........... Wait for 3rd party coolers. The stock one is dog **** and if you OC it will throttle for sure.
Not to mention it will likely have a custom PCB, likely more power connectors, not to mention cooling. And in some weeks MSI AB should be updated and this beast will be properly overclockable. Because let's face it, is has some serious OC potential. 2+Ghz on the core wuuuuuuuoooooot...!
That being said, I will keep my eyes on ASUS, Gigabyte and ZOTAC as well. :cyclone:
TESTED WITH ACCELERO EXTREME IV COOLER
Nice one, watched the video - quite nice since I can speak german as well. Holy **** that Accelero is huge, but I like it. I didn't even know it had those big ass radiator fins as a backplate, looks sick!
I'm sure 2.1, even 2.2GHz will be doable with more voltage and some tweaking on the more high end custom cards.
My 4k gameplay videos at maxed settings with the GTX 1080 @ 2050/2100mhz
I uploaded them yesterday, so 2160p/60 will take a while to process.
