OOOH I forgot about Sweet. Great choice. Also, I agree with Paul Stanley.Excellent frontman, and as far as talent goes, well, he can sing in three different octaves that I know of.He don't always do so, but just the fact that he can is impressive.
let me add also
John Rzeznik from Goo goo dolls (love this one)
Sarah Bettens from K's Choice
also like some of you said Jeff Scott Soto is great.
Donny Hathaway for me.
James Hetfield, Metallica
John Davis, KoRn
Scott Stapp, Creed
Wayne Static, Static-X
Liv Kristin, Theatre of Tragedy/Leaves' Eyes
Yuki Kajiura (Ensie from Mai-Hime OST)
Dolores O'Riordan, the Cranberries
Jimmy Gnecco (Ours)
I agree with most of the postings on this thread, but no one has said nusrat fateh ali khan. He was a pakistani singer, extremely talented.
Mina (60/70's italian singer, this is a sample http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbBb-YzK7Z8 but there's a lot of stuff on youtube)
and a lot of jazz/soul singers
Most of the names I read here are from the last 10/15 years or from specific music styles (metal on top of all), which makes me think that many of you are too young to know talented singers from the past.
I just picked today a nusrat fateh ali khan album (Qawwal And Party), I like him very much.
My favorite of all time is Maynard James Keenan from Tool.
also Ronnie James Dio and Robert Plant.
