I was wondering something about the "The Godfather" movie. Is the movie called "The Godfather" because Michael Corleone becomes Godfather to Connie's son or because Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) is the Godfather. Kind of interesting i guess.
I always thought it just referred to the head of "the family", that is after all a slang term for Mafia Don isn't it?
A godfather is a spiritual leader. Although not your direct father, the godfathers job is to guide you into Christianity and teach you the ways of Christianity. Just swap the word Christianity for Gangsta. Also read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godparent http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capo_di_tutti_capi
