I found a rope one night while exploring, so I started climbing down it. Got about halfway down and started seeing these spider looking people. Nope, went right back up.
My girlfriend took a panic attack playing this lol. She tried resting and she was woken by one of the cannibals right in front of her just staring. She literally screamed and ran upstairs and had to spend like an hour calming her down.
What's the engine they used to make the game? New big update very soon. Do you reckon it'll come out on PS4?
The Forest has finally left early access, and.... new trailer. The game will also be getting VR support.
I love this game, got over 100 hours in it easily! Need to make a video about some of my camps, me and my mate spend a lot of time building some random stuff! Story is quite interesting in this game too, they changed quite a bit with 1.0 release too!
Christ. Imagine playing this in VR. My Rift is ready..... not sure my nerves and sanity are though. Hopefully it's implemented well.
This is a case of Early Access done right - this game is just tons of fun, and for the price, I couldn't ask for more. I haven't played the game in a while, but I heard it's v.1.0 is out with new updates - will give it a try later on. I remember my very first play through - just ran around exploring.. then night fell... I didn't build anything... and then came the voices... slowly but surely surrounding me.
I get what you mean about lighting. It does look a bit washed out sometimes, i had to play with setting for a bit and select different colour gamma or presence, whatever its called i nthe setting. Think ive got for Darkblue. 1.0 version si cool, just finding new stuff and they changed recipes, some building option only appear under certain condition, for example if your sanity is below 50%!
^ Yup, two buddies and I just revisited the game after what must have been a couple years. Had a blast - the game is so well done, and the enemy A.I. and attack animations are maybe the best I've seen. Me, as we're dropping into a cave by rope: Me: "I hear something. Do you hear something?" Him: "I think it's bats." Me: "Doesn't sound like bats." *looks down to find the cave floor crawling with unspeakable things* *rapidly ascend in full panic mode* Me: "F#*k that! Run away!" Him: "There's a whole lot of NOPE down there!"
The game has been updated to support VR... fancy that, you don't even need to buy a "separate game"................................................... *Blank Stare at Bethesda*
Tried it last night. For a first release.....it's impressive. It uses SteamVR and has very good support for Oculus Touch. All buttons/stick/gestures are supported and it's smooth. Sadly, the visuals and map size seem to have taken a hit but it's expected seeing as framerate is King in VR. Video coming soon.
