This game is scary. *edit* Yeah.. about the save function.. I hope they get that sorted quickly.. I've tried the game for a little while and really enjoyed it, but don't feel like going back in until I can save progress. For any of you other Guru's who hasn't seen this game or know nothing about it check out this trailer >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9mr4k9X6c8
They got a ways to go. Mixed feelings about the cannibals and the Silent Hill fleshy porn creature knockoffs, but I guess they'll ad the option to disable it later. Here's what I did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiWufyRb8Eo
I got about 60 logs into building my 80 log cabin when the locals decided they didn't appreciate what I'd done to their forest. Fair enough really. They totally murdered my ass. Fun game already, has the potential to be something really special.
Great game tbh. Glitches are many but the potential is amazing. Graphics seem to me to be nowhere near what's in the screenshots....maybe cause im using AMD card??? Brightness options not changing the game so I wonder if the graphics shown ingame represent what I set it to in the Options. Some highlights -Was building my cabin and had to fend of some mutants. Got whacked by one and flew I couple of kilometres across the map. - Woke up in the caves underground. Found a way out but as I heading to the cave entrance game crashed Comon save fix!!!!
dont get your question, i just mean from the title of the thread its saying Oculus Rift but thats not supported yet so was just highlighting it is all so those with a Rift arent disappointed.
Yay!! Now fix the clipping on the log cabin ......had dudes jumping thru the walls at me.....makes me wonder if the defensive walls will hold em back. At least I can save now.
You can escape the tree tw4ts by climbing back into the plane Crouch down near the ripped open end, crawl forwards until you walk through the metal and end up halfway under the plane, then stand up, your head will be back in the plane, now jump and you end up 100% back inside the plane Good way to survive the first night or so until you have a shelter / cabin
Still suprised this game eating 2gig of ram while this game only just 1gig installed in my notebook :eek3:. dunno what happen in final product later Good game, but the cave when i revived from the dead is so dark. i almost cant see anything :dead:. And the cannibal.. so annoying lol
This game is pretty scary.. I explored a cave and it nearly gave me a heart attack...... Going deeper... deeper.. deeper... deeper into the cave.. I found a crazy fast cannibal that scared the crap outta me 0__0 I love the hunting with the bow and arrow, it's very fun. The ambient sound in this game is fantastic, it really does make you feel like you are alone on an island with crazy cannibals haha.
*bump and necro* (Whoa, does this game really not have an active thread anymore? At least search found only this and one other (with just two posts)) Anyhow, any active Forest players still here? How's the state of the game nowadays, it's still in EA but apparently come a long way from release? I've had The Forest on my Steam wishlist for ages but always thought I'll wait just a bit longer for a more finished game. I guess the game's pretty stable and content rich now?
I'm in! lol. It looks so damn incredible. I'm impressed. Edit: holly molly, didn't realised it was necro post haha. Is this game still alive?
^ yea still being updated AFAIK, but posted for that very reason, to find out how the game's doing atm if there are any active players lurking the forum... FYI http://store.steampowered.com/app/242760/ latest update March 25 so in active development still.
Are you still playing it / have you played it recently? The main content is probably all there already? Given the game has been almost 2 years in EA it's probably close to being finished. At least judging by the patches as they seem to be minor hotfixes now rather than major content addition. The devs are probably going to keep the game in EA until they are happy with it. I understood this game has some sort of story or main game objective (find your son)? Not that it matters much in a game like this but I prefer having some arbitrary goal to work towards.
