MoosePower - With your setup you should run the SMP Client. You will get a big PPD boost with your Xeon. But if you're not 24/7 then no.

Here are my current folding rigs from my mom's company. None of them fold 24/7 though, but they do at least fold 8-12 hours a day.

    AMD 3200+ 2.0ghz
    AMD 3500+ 2.2ghz @ 2.4ghz overclocked
    AMD Turion 64 2.0ghz
    Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.6ghz
    Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.8ghz
Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.8ghz @ 2.4ghz overclocked.
    Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz
    Intel Celeron 3.06ghz
    Intel Celeron 3.06ghz

And my rig which folds 24/7:
    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.3ghz overclocked.

The ones that are dual cores run two instances. I will soon add more to the mix.:pc1::infinity:

I have been running two instances of the text client, but I'll give the smp version a go.

Edit: Should I run two instances of the smp client?
Edit2: I can't get the smp client to work, it downloads a new wu then tries to process it but comes up with an error. It does that five times till it goes into sleep mode.

I followed the instruction but still couldn't get it to run. I got all the way to the point where it asks for my username and password. I type in the username, hit enter but then when I enter the password it won't accept any keystrokes. Hitting enter allows me to retry it, but that only goes so far..

Are you talking about when you try to run install.bat?

Yeah the install.bat does that, the password you typed in for your windows login is blanked but its still there when you type it (just cunningly hidden ;) ).

A nice little surpise for me, my ethernet cable turned up, all 50m's of it. So im on lan 24/7 now, no wifi screws up, finnally :D

    Nice, MoosePower!

You should only run one (1) SMP Client on your Dual-Core Xeon.

Wow thats impressive. How much more could you squeeze out with a 3600mhz overclock?

With my xeon I only had around 1000. I'll try to overclock my cpu tomarrow, I'm curious how much potential this G0 has.

Well, you'll need to change affinity reguarly in order to gain frame time, thus increase ppd and it takes for ever to manage 8 proccess every 10 mins, so why not get a service to do it..

I see what you mean, maybe I should just stick with one instance. lol
Edit: Hey Aircool I can't get the affinity changer program to work. For some reason the required service won't start.

    Damn, I need more F@H power. :(

Unfortunately, I killed my 1000MHz Celeron. :eek:c: :cussing:

But, and I'm still laughing about this, I was looking through the ranks and noticed that I still have a 2.4GHz Celeron folding for CrossFire and that it has pushed CrossFire to 100 WUs. ROFL

    Good luck MoosePower !!

Thanks man, I'm at 2150 ppd. If I ever get two instances to run my score might get a boost. Kinda had bad luck setting everthing up. lol
