messed around with a lil oc,1430 processor clock,2100 mem clock (4200 effective) fan speed at 80% temps didnt go above 76c in a run of vantage, total score of 21941

i know ATI is performing better with Vantage but i get 18819 for gpu score in vantage with my 5850, i dunno maybe with mega optimised drivers a 480 could hit 23k but its not really very impressive as is.

Cheers for the benchies though, good work.

As we've seen in the reviews, the 480/470 perform better with real games vs synth benches.

yep even on with my crappy 250gts it doubles cpu score, ~15000 vs ~41000 with ppu on..

How do you get those CPU scores with your processor? They seem way above what your CPU should be capable to run at.

    By comparison, I have a 920 overclock @4270MHz and get (w/out PhysX):

    CPU score 24952
    AI Test 3532.36 Operations/s
    Physics Test 31.08 Operations/s

That's cause its GTX 480 with physx on for that cpu score.

if you looked closely its not his card and the guy who posted it had a i7 980 6core cpu, probably with HT on, that's why :nerd:

And didn't change the GPU score at all. Which is why people who say 'OMG PHYSX IS ON' in threads like this are idiots.

agree, but I would like to see some 470 and 5850 real world head to head benches in games and vantage. 5850 is a great card though, I've had my eye on one for a while.

Heh - didn't realize my thread was linked here. Hi everyone!

I asked that the "It's here" thread be locked over at EVGA because of flaming, but there are plenty of others over there benching as well, so head on over and take a look!

nah i feel if its stressed for anything it will be in a benchmark run.(i never oc for games )
i did get the ab beta 2 thuo which shows proper clocks.

i'm so beat from work that i'm too tired to get the dice flowing, maybe later on today the cpu only, then both tommorrow night.

no dice pot on yet but its an easy card to get cold. with the big ol' metal face and exposed heatpipes it lends well to my cheapo cooling{ http://i4memory.com/f22/low-dollar-295gtx-cooling-14417/ } without a dice pot on it. 1700/850/2171 np i got more but i did not want to blow my load so to speck in the first day...no vmods that are public yet(unlike the 470)

just somthing to put up for now

Would XP's being light as an OS help keep the scores high?
Though W7 would optimize better use of all those 6 cores.
    I jawdrop'd @ the GPU-Z spec...3 BILLION transistors.. with a 200+GB data rate?!
