    Hey guys,

I saved my pennies for far too long but finally this thing is up and running. Really happy with the end product. Only slight gripe I have is the Sapphire 7970GE Vapor X cards were bigger than anticipated, rendering my PCI Xonar DG soundcard useless. Gunna have to get a PCIE Soundcard on the cheap - (on that note, what would you guys recommend as a good but reasonably priced gaming soundcard? must have optical)

Heres a couple of pics of the PC taken tonight.

    Full Specs are :

i5 3570k Quacore CPU @4.6Ghz (cooled with a Corsair H100 self contained liqiud cooling unit)
    8GB of Mushkin Frostbyte DDR3 1600mhz ram
    Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard
    2 x Sapphire HD7970 Ghz Edition Vapor-X 3GB Graphics cards in crossfire
    Corsair HX850V2 850W Power Supply
OCZ Vertex 4 Indilinx 128GB SSD for operating system
OCZ Vertex 2 90GB SSD for main games

.. and a 1TB + 3 x 320GB HDDs for storage all spinning inside the Cooler Master CM Storm Stryker Full Tower Chassis.

No modifications really, other than zip tying that 200mm fan in front of the GPU's haha.

Its the sound sensor which is hooked up to my two white cold cathodes in the case.

Looks great and specs looks reasable beside GPU (not sure why such overkill on GPU side).

Makes me want to get a new sexy case.

Is it Corsair's case in pics?

Are you gaming at 2560 wide or triple monitor? Cos 7970 GHz crossfire is complete overkill for 1080p

Thank you all for the kind comments :) much appreciated.

Yep it definitely is overkill for 1080p, a 27" 2560x1600/1440 is next on my list (cant stand the bezel inbetween multi monitors)

Yep this case is the cm storm stryker which is a white variant of the storm trooper. The difference being the stryker is white, not black....it has a window but lacks the e-sata port of the front of the chassis. Love this chassis aye.

Cool rig but drop the on-board sound and get yourself a dedicated card and some top speakers to really enhance your gaming experience.

Yeah bro i had a xonar dg but when i installed the 7970s i hadnt realised they actually take up 2.5 slots, so couldnt fit my soundcard in. Need a pcie soundcard now. Thinking of the xonar dgx?...i just need to make sure it has optical. Ive got the pc hooked up to my sony home theatre system :) sounded mint with the dg installed. Lost a lot of volume and quality since goin back to onboard

Nice 8970 you got there too btw ;) this to do with amds rebranding antics with the "8950" in that pre built pc that was advertised? turning out to be a rebranded 7950 lol...pretty shocking.

Hey man is that a corsair h100 cpu cooler? It fits in the Cooler Master Storm Trooper case and everything? I am thinking about getting that case now instead of the haf 932 if that's true lol, probably get an h100i though the new h100 model. Basically yeah I over read and didn't see it is an h100, so I guess an h100i will fit in there too quite easily then. Nice build man. 2x 7970's is kind of ridiculous though unless you got a few monitors and/or using high resolutions though I'd say.
