Thanks for the confirmation, I thought this would be the case. A few ( minor'ish ) issues I had with the season which I'll spoiler tag: Spoiler - Totally expected Amos to bite the bullet, glad he didn't because I like his character but with everyone getting healed with "Medi-Gel" and having new body parts grow etc. it kinda negates any sense of real peril in the show. Its not a big thing, just a small nitpick for me. Haven't read the books yet so don't know what extent the "Medi-Gel" can heal a wounded body but I wish the authors would be a tiny bit bolder in offing characters without going into the GoT style of offing a major character at the end of almost every season. - The larva's causing green eye blindness felt a bit of a tacked on side quest. - Marco Inaros introduction felt a bit rushed, as in: Here's the guy!... we let him loose!... he is now bad guy! I would have liked more background in this season to give more impact for the ending of the season. - The vibe I had when I was done with season 4 was that maybe they tried to cram in a bit too much in some ways. 10 Episodes felt a bit rushed in places whereas I felt season 3 was a bit more coherent and better paced. Stretching season 4 into 12 episodes might have given a bit more room to breath and mature but what do I know. While I thoroughly enjoyed season 4, my biggest take out of it was that I can't wait to read the books but I got so much in my queue atm. that it might be a while yet so my opinions will continue to be based on what the show offers as a piece of TV entertainment.
Currently rereading the books and I am in the middle of the 6th book which having looked at this trailer more than a few times I am certain this season is going to be a combination of Books 5 and 6. Also shameless self promotion, latest model I've been working on MCRN Scirroco I am 'literally' starting to build a nice little collection
Dang! what sort of models are these because you've outdone yourself! Like are these something you can print off the net or do you have to buy them or did you craft them yourself ?
The Roci is the one that kick started me. It was released over at the Papermodellers forum by one of their members. The Donnager (not shown in the picture) Morrigan, Truman and Scirroco however I ended up building in Blender myself before exporting and texturing for building. I am in the middle of doing the blender build for the Amun Ra class. The Protegen Stealth frigates from the first series that attack The Donnager.
sweeet, The Expanse is on series scifi should of never let ago, then again most the good stuff scifi aired end when they renamed/branded stuff, the good stuff is far and between since that change, most stuff is really bad these days. Look at you Sharknado and the 100foot shark movie that took jumbo jet out of there air...
Did the Amazon take an U-turn in the Protomolecule story line? Because all I can see in the trailer is some struggle between factions... and no Miller
That's what it looks like. I'm sure they will bring it back but they probably need to layer more plot than just everything about the molecule. Really like this show though.
It had less to do with the quality of the show and more to do with it not being a Syfy original production meaning they couldn't make a huge amount of cash from the show. Sharknado is like a messy car crash you know it's going to be bad, that it's not going to be pretty but you still have a look and once confirmed you wish you had never bothered. It must be making them some cash though as they are on to 5 or 6 of the bloody things by now. Back seat for this season, a little layering, mostly showing what humans have done after studying the tech and some setting of the scene for later but it'll return with a vengeance once Laconia appears on the scene.
Season 5 of the Expanse is coming out 12/16/20. Time to mark the calender's, it's a fun show and if you haven't seen any of it there's time to catch up.
It is to bad that Mance Rayder cannot advise Marco on what happens to leaders who unit faction for the first time.
well last season was still about Protomolecule and it ending with it still part of story, even if it was " destroyed" or so it seams. would think it still part of it
Just read that the show has been renewed for a sixth and sadly final season. Looks like the show is planning on doing the complete story arcs which as of yet are still to be completed by the books (the last one 'Leviathan Falls' being out early next year) so at least that's some good news. My only concern is that with each season so far containing the content of around one and maybe a bit book the last two seasons of this show are going to have to squeeze the content of no less than five books in to them.
I hope it doesn't wind up all Game-of-Thronesy and have a sucky, unsatifsying final season. I'd rather they just complete whatever story arcs are in motion now and forget the rest.
Game of thrones had the issue of the having to do the last 2 or 3 seasons without the source material to back up the lack of talent. At least The Expanse will see it's run through not only with the complete books / source material being released but I am lead to believe that the guys who write the books also write or co - write the show. I am getting more and more worried about the last season as not only are they having to pack three books worth of story in to a single season it also looks like the guy who plays Alex Kamal (Cas Anvar) won't be in it either.
I hope they just find another actor to play Alex. It would be a shame to have the character removed because of the real-life actions of the individual playing him.
It kind of makes sense to wrap up the show with the current cast since the books take like a thirty year skip in the timeline after the sixth book. New cast later on down the road to continue the story is hopefully the direction being taken.
